He seemed like a fantastic person, I always heard he was like a father to everyone on set and he knew how to help everyone. Be at rest, you crazy diamond.

The film's aside Romero was genuinely a person of great depth... substance.. character. Call it whatever you can relate too. I know it's rare and I'm grateful for the very real very tangible artifacts he left in his wake.

I've seen most of George's movies multiple times, my favourite has always been the '78 classic Dawn Of The Dead and a guilty pleasure is his underrated 1981 action movie called Knightriders starring Ed Harris as King William, Tom Savini as The Black Knight and has a cameo by Stephen King as Hoagie Man.

Growing up in the Pittsburgh area during these times was so unique and George and Tom definitely shaped our lives. I watched Chiller Theatre every Saturday night, been to the original cemetery from Night, Dawn scared the shit out of me, and I saw my favorite movie of all time, Day, at the theater on opening night with my two best teenage friends in Greensburg, PA. Been to Monroeville mall to see the shooting locations, and even did the Day of the Dead shooting spots tour in Ft. Myers. It's just part of the culture living there during those times, and still to this day. These guys hold legacy status in SW PA.

RIP Mr. Romero! Thank you for your contribution to the film industry and especially the zombie genre ! Day and dawn of the dead are 2 of my favorite zombie films but my edge goes to day of the dead personally.

I love the original Dawn of the Dead 1979, George Romero is the father of the modern-day zombies in movies and TV like Shakespeare he was making statements about society through his art.
