I took a very long break from country cause I clung onto my folks old country music, which I love, 50’s, 60’s etc., and when they passed away I just struggled to listen without breaking down. Now Im rediscovering just how beautiful country music is. Im with you cause George strait makes it easy to transition into more current stuff too, to me. 😉

I was at this concert. It was my first big show. I was 14 and my older brother took me for my upcoming birthday. It was unbelievable. George, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney & and the Dixie Chicks.

George Strait is living proof that real country music can still be saved and be made. Today's "country" singers really need to step the Hell back and go back to country's roots. People say, "It's music. Music changes." Yeah, well Bluegrass hasn't really changed since it's creation in the 1940s. But country...country is dying because it's changed so much. And although the country genre will always be around, country music might not. George Strait won't be around forever, and when he leaves, I hope to God country music doesn't leave with him...

heartfan82 when you wrote this a year ago I would have been in agreement. But after seeing Trump in action, it has become blatantly obvious that he was the one we desperately needed. If you don't agree, you're not taking the time to educate yourself. If you still believe any of the negativity spewed by fake news, please, please let yourself be enlightened by some other sources. I'm only speaking to those who actually want prosperity for America, not those still blind to the fact that Obama was on a mission to destroy this country. This is a song that describes when i was in the third grade in Clovis NM in 1963. Pam Magee gave me a message that told me, she loved me. Sad thing my father was transfered to Nellis AFB in las vegas. I loved her then and I love her still. Sad thing is I never saw her again but I still love he still.

Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn , rip, Reba M, it's certainly a very tough one for me. Lord knows they are all fantastic artists only one can be Queen. ? They use to play the shit out of this (2-4 times in a 12 hour period) at the water park I use to work at. I still sang it every time it came on. I really appreciate my grandaddy introducing me to George; the country nowadays is a disgrace.

I used to listen to this on VH1 Country when it first came out. Every time the video would come on, we'd crank the TV way up and dance and sing, even laugh because it made us so happy. Ever since she passed away at age 46, every time I hear it, it brings tears to my eyes. Brings back good memories. Thanks George. RIP Carolyn Rasmussen.

I lived in kentucky when i was younger and went to school in a very small town i was 16 and asked my friend at the time if she wanted to go on a date to the movies. She lived down in the hollors and she always wore flannel shirts or overall to school. She was a simple farm girl ❤ always in the dirt like me working on the farms. That saturday comes and my mom drives me over to her house and out walks my date❤. She had on her best sunday dress with her hair done up looking absolutely gorgeous❤ the ride to the movies i just kept looking over at her in disbelief i fell in love and couldnt even talk to her😂. She smelled of strawberries and her hair was litterally flowing in the wind as if i was watching her in a movie. I cant put it into words how beautiful she was. She was such an amazing girl with the kindest heart and a smile that you never forget. We had a amazing time. we dated for 6 months and Sadly she passed away in a car wreck on her way to school. It was the most painful thing i ever went through. She was the love of my life and still to this day i can still see glimpses of her dancing in the field with strawberry scent filling the air like she is next to me. Sorry got me emotional😢 this song was definitely her

This came out not long before my husband died of kidney disease. He drove 90 mph across town for me to hear it. He said it was me,us because I always wrote him notes and poems. 17 years later and it still pulls emotions out of me, now that's what a true country classic does!! Long live George Strait!!
