Dillon, great video. I just did a similar build with 2014 GX 460 on 265/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I had adjustable Bilsteins added to level it out which added about 1.5". My GX still has stock front/rear bumpers and stock running boards (looking at sliders next). So, it probably has about 1" (maybe 2"?) less clearance than your setup. Question: Do you think I could get through most of the Georgia Traverse if I was careful? If not, what sections would be fine?

Good video. I do not own one, however have rented one for a long weekend, and for my money (and MY style of travel), the Toyota Sequoia is THE best SUV out there, and THE best bang for the buck in terms of a durable and reliable off-road capable SUV. Expect to get many, many years out of my current truck however, I would like for my next vehicle to be a (lightly) used Sequoia. 'People' are slobs. Parks, highways and roads, neighborhoods, cities, etc. With every passing year, I go further out of my way to avoid them.

To reset your traction control system, disconnect your battery for 15 minutes to reset. I had the same problem in my sequoia.

I’ve been watching your channel for about a week. I’ve been trying to decide what to buy 4runner/Sequoia/GX460 Are my top picks. But the Sequoia wasn’t even an option until I saw your videos. I guess it will come down to what is available when it’s time to buy. Keep the videos coming.

I’d probably just pick whichever one you can find first within your budget. All three are incredibly solid choices. You really can’t go wrong with any of them....but we’ll always be biased towards the sequoia 😊

Gaia works on CarPlay now and I have installed a CarPlay deck in my 02 sequoia so we’ll see how that works next trip.

do you think you could of made it throught that patch of water just in 2wd. i got a 2001 sequoia 2wd because the price was a steal and the frame is mint. kinda hard to find some places in canada. im going to atleast raise it 2 inches and bigger wheel setup to atleast have more ground clearance. ofcourse its nice to have 4wd for a peace of mind but im just curious how capable this heavy vehicle is in certain terrain in just 2wd

hey man ive been looking into these as a possible first car, i come from a long line of offroading and figure this may be a viable purchase. Ive heard from many reviews its a fairly easy suv to drive, seeing as youre somewhat younger than other reviewers and closer to my age group would you agree besides its size its a fairly easy suv to handle, keep up the great work btw

I wouldnt bother airing down or locking the center diff for any of the stuff I saw in this vid. Maybe lock the center diff for the water crossings, thats about it.

To be honest, I'd probably recommend lifestyle overland or revere overland for youtube channels that can teach you how to use Gaia. They are much more skilled than me.

We’ve never worried about it in black bear regions, aside from simply storing food properly. When we visit areas with grizzlies (Wyoming, Montana) we take extra precautions, carry bear spray, and keep a firearm with hard cast ammo as a last ditch effort.
