I own a 2006 Toyota Highlander HYBRID with just over $180,000 miles. It has required a new radiator fan assembly, shop repairs under the hood due to a vacuum leak, 2 new radiators, new left & right headlight assemblies, 4 new power window regulators/motors, new climate control assembly, new radio, interior blower motor replaced, new left rear LED light assembly (brake/backup/turn signal) replaced and the most expensive repairs were 2 brake actuators (unique to the hybrid version) replaced at $3,200.00 each. Each of the 2 new brake actuator replacements required killed any cost savings in fuel, and them much, for being a hybrid. Worse yet the expensive brake actuator replacements are only warranted for 1 year each time.

The color is very nice, but I’m a little claustrophobic so I will be going for the natural color. 😁. I need as much light as possible. I will also get a rainfly to keep the tent drier and cooler and to save the canvas from sun damage.

It's a big tent. I have the older model of it, in a light color. I love the green though. The windows are bigger in that newer one. Overall, the tent is a very spacious one and I was in it during a rainstorm and was completely dry inside. The pros for me are...easy to set up for one person and take down. Because its sturdy, I feel safe in it. The con's, they are pricier than most other tents and are heavier. But the pros outweigh the con's and if the tent wasn't heavier than most it would likely not be as good.

I would hardly call this engine "simple". It is actually fairly exotic compared to the Chevy, Ram, or Ford. A twin cam on a V8 is quite amazing!
@TheFraziers
@TheFraziers 3 күн бұрын
Simple compared to turbo/supercharged/hybrid engines was my point. You’re right though, twin cam v8s are odd. The 2UZ was pretty state of the art back in the late 90s but is simple compared to modern engines.

They’re great engines, and keep in mind: every engine has something that can fail and cause the entire thing to break, whether it’s this in the 4.7 or the 12 valve 5.9 Cummins diesel that has that killer dowel pin.

I ha e had a 2004 Sequoia dince new. Another issue is that the guide rails for the rear hatch window rusted out. I was a le to buy a set of OEM guide rails from a Toyota dealer on line for $200. Fixed it in a couple of hours and back to normal.

I just put OME Medium 2.5" kit on my 2016 TRD offroad tacoma, installed it myself, along with new upper control arms. I've always used OME on my old landcruisers too, always good value and performance. Love it, my tacoma did 134k miles on the stock suspension and had gotten pretty mushy. New OME feels great, don't do a lot of offroading but I haul heavy loads (hay, camper, lumber etc) so the stiffer suspension keeps me from riding the bump stops

I’d say you probably need to do a deep dive of research before pulling the trigger on suspension before spending $3k on something. $3k for all of what they are including sounds a little too cheap to be good stuff. I would never lift an IFS vehicle 3” by the way. Great way to ruin your ride. Stick with 2” or less.

I recently titan swapped my nissan xterra with OMEs in the front with 700 lb springs as well and I had the same concerns based on people's complaints. I have rocksliders and a 150 lb bumper and skid plate, (I'm also 225 lbs), and I was surprised at how smooth it rides on the trails with a decent amount of crawling. These were supposed to be placeholders until I can afford some remote reservoir shocks but I may just keep running these as long as they suit my needs.

I have a 2004. It has the 4x4 button but the shift knob down under it for 4hi, lo and N. If I have 4x4 turned off, should that shifter be in the neutral position? Or does it matter? Also if you have it in four-wheel drive and you have the differential locked, What is the process of turning everything off? That's what I'm confused about. Do you put it in neutral? Do you put it in park?

I had the VSC/Trac lights come on and then engine shuddering and reduced power. I finally got the OBDII code C1234 (it would erase after the car turned off). Recalibrating didn't work. I replaced the yaw rate sensor. Expensive little part but fixed the problem. There was a recall on the early Sequoias for this part.

Got ours for my son from my brother in law who bought it from new. Needs a few updates. Just did all brakes & rotors, serpentine & alternator belts, transmission fluid, power steering fluid. Car has 278,000 miles. Recently changed plugs and oil. One of the plugs was totally burnt in & hard to get out. I suspect my brother in law never changed it. Maybe we got a bad set of plugs cuz the car did not run well so we got a set of new coils & Denso plugs. Got the 1st 4 in but the back coils & plugs under the manifold are hard to get to! So we'll do those soon enough. Luckily we got the ones that matter and the car really runs nice & smooth now. Next project is the timi g belt/water pump and differential. We hear s slight whine from the transmission tnough it shifts well. Added lucas transmission additive when we did the transmission oil change (not flush). All in all its a tank & feels solid

I found an ‘06 Sequoia for sale by a guy who goes to the same mechanic that I do. He put in a Surefire remanufactured 2UZ-FE motor from AutoZone at 195k bc old one skipped timing. Is the Surefire a sufficient motor or should I run far away? It is currently at 205k and also had radiator replaced.
@TheFraziers
@TheFraziers Ай бұрын
I’m not familiar with Surefire but honestly, I’d run from anything with a reman engine. Lots of problems can be invisible for a while with a reman engine, long enough to surpass a warranty. I’d keep searching to find one on an original, well maintained engine even if it’s a little higher mileage.

@@TheFraziers I don’t plan on driving it more than 5k a year if that helps. My previous car was an ‘06 Expedition that I used to haul a motorcycle to the track and did about 13k in the 3yr+ I owned it until the timing chain skipped and I was left with the decision to put $5k+ into a vehicle that wasn’t worth that with the condition of the exterior and front seats so I just sold it to a junkyard.

Just want you to know the good news of the Gospel. The bad news is that you and I (everyone) are sinners. And since God is Holy He doesn’t put up with sin. So sin leads to hell. The good news is God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross. This means Jesus paid the debt we owed but couldn’t pay. So if one repents and places faith (trust) in Jesus Christ they can be assured of heaven. I love you and so does God.
