The Indian hockey men’s team beat Germany 5-4 in a high-scoring thriller in the bronze medal match. India last won an Olympic hockey medal at Moscow 1980. The Indian men’s hockey team has now won 12 hockey medals at the Olympics - eight golds, one silver and three bronze. It was India’s second medal in Tokyo after their gold at the 1964 Games. What a moment for India! I had tears in my eyes honestly...This bronze medal is worth more than the gold medal for us owing to the fact that India's last win in hockey was way more than 4 decades ago. We have reached where we once belonged. This is the revival of people's interest in this game.It's a remarkable achievement!

That was a timekeeper's mistake. Play should have been stopped by the TV Umpire as per rules.

Amazing achievement for the Indian Hockey Team to win Bronze Medal in Olympics 2021 after a gap of 49 years since 1972 Munich. The Gold Medal won by India in Moscow 1980 was within a depleted field were Spain was the only Top 10 team. The last major achievement of Indian Hockey Team was winning the 1975 World Cup Hockey in Kaula Lumpur.

At 1:49:12, a German player purposefully tripped an Indian player in the penalty area. But why was no penalty awarded?

After that at 1:52:35, six seconds were added to the clock. Why so? Also at 1:58:46, the clock was frozen for nearly 17s. And thanks to that, Germany got another penalty corner in the dying seconds!

There isn't much of a difference between India, Germany and Netherlands. All three teams are on equal level. Ofcourse, Belgium and Australia are a step above the rest.

The speed of passing and trapping of Belgium is the best, followed by Australia, who are more skilful. Germany and Netherlands' speed of passing is better than that of India, but India is much more skilful.

Since 1990s, I had been watching our hockey, Pargat Singh Legends Dhanraj Palay, Mukesh Kumar, Dilip Tirkey Jagbir Singh a lot of players to see, in1998 they got 🥇 medal in Asian games, they also lifted Sultan Azlan Shah trophy, but never seen before 🇮🇳 as a part of Olimpic Medal 😭, after 1980 Moscow gold medal, this is the first time we see our players make the podium finish thanks to all guys, make to whole country proud, I have been watching 32 years, i can't stop my tears with joy, i think our glory is come back jai hind 🇮🇳🙏🏻
