I love this father and son, tribute! I'm an only child lost my mom, May 17, 2011, I'm 54. my dad passed when I was 11,. My mom never remarried. My dads been gone a long time, I do remember, watching tv with him, never had forgotten him. So since he died, it had been me and mom. She was the strongest person, I know, I have no kids, at all, and lost my best girlfriend, and another male friend the same year, She was The Wind Beneath my Wings! After she died, sometimes, I feel so alone, family, makes you feel like they could care less for anyone but themselves. After her service, haven't seen or heard from them since. Blessed to have one wonderful friend, and one cousin who show they care. People say they love you, it is an action word, just a visit or phone call, is nice. I'm not working at the time, their so busy thinking you want their money, they hide, and many other reasons. I loved my mom on everything, we always looked out for each other, she was like sister, mom, girlfriend, everything. I dedicate this song to my wonderful mom, Mrs. Helen Smith, and Dad too, who hasn't been forgotten. She longed for my dad secretly, I know and her life, wasn't the same without him, probably, but having me as her daughter, their with her filled her void. She was my void, now I'm here alone. God and me, so I'm not really alone. Cherish those you love, spend time, don't be to busy, to go see the sick, or the lonely. One day it could be you! Peace!

Sorry, about your lost. Lost mine along time ago, when I was only 11. My mom, died, May 17, 2011, I'm an only child, had been me, and mom forever. Now that she's gone my world is very boring without her. Family disappeared after her service, they don't call or visit. People are so phony, how do you go to a funeral, of someone, and no, they only had one daughter, no kids either, and act like they could careless. When you don't have what people have , and aren't phony, they don't care to even talk to you. Real Godly and post Amen, Be blessed, everyday on Facebook. That's real ungodly behavior. You think.

My mother in law died 3 yes ago and my husband and I.. was so broken by this tragic moment our lived fell completely apart. The family fell apart and no one was close anymore my husband family hurt him so bad but he was so humble by it all he said was mom a would of wanted me to be this way she held the family together and it’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her.

I've always loved the Leverts but this is awesome. My oldest son died a week before his 59th birthday (Jan 19, 2021) in NJ. His siblings and I are in Maryland so his memorial was virtual. The pain is so raw. This song brings me some comfort. Thank you Eddie and Gerald 😥❤💔

Soul music as we once knew is a thing of the past. We have what I'd like to call a loot of "imposters". When what is know as 'today's" soul music lost Gerald Lavert,they lost a true CHAMPION. No one else has come along to fill the void left byd Gerald Lavert. I saw him on a show with the late Lluther Vandross,and I was simply amazed at how he just showed Luther up. R.I.P. Big Man
