The sudden and unexpected demise of Gerard Houllier has left everyone at shock. As many of the current generation is unaware what a mammoth figure he was for Liverpool FC, here is the extract from BBC documentary "Liverpool FC The 30 Year Wait", which highlighted how the club was successfully managed by the legendary manager and how he brought back Liverpool in Europe's elite circle after almost a decade of darkness.

I felt so sorry for him when he leave Liverpool,but here we confirmed its his health that took into consideration,all Liverpool Fans,players n the Club were so worried when he was taken to hospital.Great Great Manager,RIP Gerard Houllier,Thank You for those great times,YNWA.

For what Gerrard achieved in his short time at Liverpool FC and built the modern day foundations from training at Melwood to nurturing home grown talent,identity and philosophy, he deserves a Statue.
