Thanks! It's simple but BG gear gets a bad rep... Unfairly in some cases so I think it's good to throw an impartial view out there. Thanks for watching. Andy

Yeah, I agree, it's decent enough. Especially( for those just putting a kit together, or to have as a backup on a camping trip. You can find them at Walmart here, along with a bunch of other Bear Grylls stuff. Some of the BG stuff, is actually usable gear!

Yea there's some questionable gear but I like this. Feels really solid and throws hot sparks. Decent for the price... just a bit big.

Very cool.. I like the way it's made.. It's perfect for a back up.. If it don't break like the rest of there stuff.. I like it though..

Yea mate! Definitely is. I know the Bear Grylls stuff isn't the coolest gear but it's not bad for what it is. A little big for what it is and it could make better use of the room inside for tinder, but it's not bad. I've had it since Christmas and it's had a bit of use and just as good as the day I got it. All the best mate! Don't forget to check out my new competition. All you have to do to enter is a little video response saying how you'd use the 2 Blizzard Bags (put in the car, in a bug out bag, get home bag etc)

I'm from Bury way originally (Dad's from Bolton) but in these vids I'm at Baitings reservoir near Sowerby Bridge. Great to see some locals following! All the best mate. Andy (Not on Instagram or twitter but on Facebook- Andy Jones)

Thanks mate! Much appreciated. I'm not too keen on garish stuff but I like to review stuff that's common and readily available to keep with the 'average joe' theme.

+Average Joe Survival Friday 4th through to Sunday 6th, it's £5 a night to the landowner, but open fires are allowed, you can either build your own camp away from everyone, or get a group camp going. everyone who goes is really into the bushcraft scene, the week's mainly for people trying out new kit. there are a few wise heads there too, including a guy called Alan, what he doesn't know about bushcraft isn't worth knowing. it's also a great point to meet the wider community, a lot of leather craftsmen, knife makers and so on go to these meets ( not peddling there wares, so you'll have to get chatting to see who is into what) .... if your up for it mate, let me know and I'll send you my phone number via fb, and I'll pass on the address :-D, nice one for replying

good quick review m8 I've been looking at them but probably wouldn't have it in my regular outdoor kit because of the points you put forward but the main reason I wouldnt have one is the fact if you need to use it in an emergency and your cognitive skills were failing,having cold hands or wearing gloves when pulling the 2 sections part would be handbrake straight away atb
@sawdustandsurvival8 жыл бұрын
The size does make it easy to use with cold hands. I've used it quite a lot recently. I also know from doing a lot of outdoor stuff that its important to have something that doesn't get bits separated or generally lost easily so those are good points to it. Thanks for watching. Andy
