Great video but I wouldn't use the saw on metal too many times or I guess the finish you'll get on wood will deteriorate.... I've just unwrapped mine (Chrimbo pressie) and had a couple of test cuts. I only needed to alter the laser a mm to the right as everything else was bob on

The biggest downfall of this saw is the blade changing, they really didnt think about that too well.. You actually have to remove half the table just to get the blade off.. Even a table saw could change a blade faster than this ..

Not sure if you can help, I know the max depth of cut is 65mm however what is the max depth of material you can insert (even if I need to add a scrap block of wood to clear the undercarriage). I need to make a trench cut (so to create a cross lap joint) so do not need the saw to cut the full depth of the wood i.e. I have a 45x95mm that I would like to make a 50mm cut into. Is this possible?

Apparently it runs at a slightly slower RPM which is suitable for wood but also doesn't cause problems with other materials. The blade probably does most of the job, but it's difficult to put it on other saws as the hole is 1inch, whereas they're normally 20 or 30mm

Mate, in a small room (shed) you should operate the saw with your back to the open door. If you were careless enough to lose a finger or two, you don’t want to be fighting your way around the table or battling a closed door to get out with your red stuff gushing out. You could even pass out in the shed and no one might find you…. Also, practically it is easier to feed in long stock from the open door huh!

Excellent! That's really fortunate. I've still got this but have since ended up with a Bosch mitre saw too. I think it depends on how large the piece is and how delicate. For example if cutting a 2ft length of wood, I probably wouldn't clamp. If it was a 2m piece of wood and I was cutting near the end, I'd want support. If it was a tiny piece I'd want a zero clearance plate. It all depends on the workpiece really.

I'll try to slip a segment into my next wildcamp video, but there's not a lot to see really. It's still like new. It's great and it's been on lots of wildcamps as it's the only bag I take on wildcamps and there have been dozens. With that said, the distances covered aren't really that great although I do trust it to just keep going because it's completely unscathed. The only thing that's worth noting, is that when you add the side pockets, the compression straps become redundant. It's really good and I'm happy with it, but definitely consider Berghaus military line offerings. I've got a Munro which I use as my work bag and I love it. Berghaus military stuff feels a little different to Karrimor SF (KSF). Not necessarily better, but possibly more rugged in the materials they use. With that said, there's no longevity issues with SF materials. KSF stuff just feels a bit softer, sleeker and more comfortable. I do kinda like the rough and ready rugged feel though. With that said, maybe this makes the KSF more comfortable to wear as I've never worn the Berghaus larger bag. Just worth looking at.

I have a couple of Amazong knockoffs and love em, a Stanley cup fits in perfectly with a C500 canister on top. Single green cup in there along with a mini stove and some wetwipes, wrapped in a bandana which silences the carry and doubles as a teatowel, plus everythings on it when you pull it out, not scattered on the ground. Front pouch is firekit, SOG Powerlock and ferro rod along with a wee pot of sugar. I added 2 mag pouches as well, ones crammed with coffee sachets and I need to put some bits into the other, I'm thinking just a mylar tent, cordage and a water bag. That pouch lives on top of the bergen as a grabby pack under my lockstraps. Great pouches though, everyone should try them.

I'm not at home at the moment but if I remember rightly there's a button to press in before turning the nut which I think is to the right of the handle. And remember it's a reverse thread on the locking nut, so you'll need to turn the Allen key anti-clockwise rather than clockwise to tighten the nut. But that's generally the case on most of these and it's so that it tightens rather than loosens when spinning.

I didn't go away camping this weekend or last. I was in the process of making a video about making my tent a bit more 'stealthy' but it wasn't a success. The gist of it was that my tent poles gleamed like a mirror and made it obvious where I was. Not ideal in situations where I'm 'stealth camping' and technically shouldn't be. I masked the end poles with camo Gorilla tape, but as the central pole flexes, I was stuck. Spray paint failed as it just came off as soon as the pole moved. Expensive Nash "waterproof and flexible" tape wasn't waterproof and just came off when the pole flexed. Next port of call was to try Aluminium Black which oxidises aluminium... partially worked but not well. Was hoping the Aluminium black would be the solution and I might have a useful video, but it wasn't to be.

The Rush 72 came out of retirement though shortly after it was filmed when I got in the police and I used it as my duty bag. The camo bit at the top is a standard issue Dutch (I think) army roll mat. Quite narrow but very thick and firm, which is great for someone heavy like me.

Function wise I could have got away with something like a Vango Banshee 200 or Coleman Cobra 2 for less than half the price which I bet would serve me just as well and had similar specs. I do love the look of it though and it does meet my needs. The only red flag I had at the moment is that spare parts cost a fortune and customer services were a bit rude when I emailed, which after a purchase annoyed me. Also there's some DIY you have to do to make it right out of the box involving Loctite and replacing pegs. If you're interested in one, there's a great review online I can dig up the review of but I might do a separate one when I'm out in it soon.

I can only imagine how beautiful that would be. I live on the outskirts of Manchester, so it's what we'd consider to be "semi-rural" but it's all farmland and nearly everywhere is owned if you look into it hard enough but often places aren't used and haven't been for years. The other issue is that most land is moorland which is basically just long grass. Woodland seems to be increasingly rare. One of the woods I filmed most of my old videos in is now flattened and is a nice concrete path with surrounding grass. It's such a shame.
