Berger won in Mexico because his car had the "biggest turbo" .. making up for the thin air. there's also calculations from the Monza qualifying the very same year supporting those claims (where Berger only qualified third because his engine blew up right after Parabolica .. forcing him to "cost" to the finish line).

no, you're missing the whole point. the imperfect picture only completes the whole impression. part of why people nowadays say, "oh, this just looks like a video game" is because of the crystal clear picture .. it's actually taking away any, umm, "uncertainty." watching this, you've to use your mind and imagination .. similar to reading a book .. where people are also typically disappointed by the cinema adaptation.
