That Ferrari 412 from 1994 has the best sound EVER of any F1 ...
@the_razr Жыл бұрын
it's even better than the 1995 T2 since it still had the more voluminous 3.5l V12 which sounded more agressive
@Spinelli__22 күн бұрын
And the particular spec of the 94 Ferrari F1 engine they introduced at Hockenheim for qualifying (and for therace at later races) was absolutely beyond incredible sounding and one of the most insane F1 engines ever.

The best V12 that f1 have had, the most powerful with still the best top speed of this 1994 season, but the chassis could not follow. RIP V12 😢

Quelle superbe Ferrari! Quel pilotage! Merci pour cette vidéo...malheureusement trop courte. Cette 412T1a me fera toujours rêver. C'est elle qui m'a fait plonger dans l'univers Ferrari...et c'est pas de la blague!

I love how you can hear the backfires every time he upshifts in the tunnel. Those things sound and feel like explosions when you’re sitting trackside. Amazing.

I love the sound of the Ferrari V12 engines from the 90s. On full throttle, it sounds like the engine has so much power that it is on the edge of blowing up any moment, fantastic !

It's funny how even tho this ferrari wasn't always as competitive as others it ranks as one of my favorites.

F1 needs this sound back. Or it risks alienating a huge percentage of its fan base. The die-hard's like myself of course, will forever stay loyal. But the sound of an F1 car (well pre 2014 that is) is what drew people to the track, it was so other worldly. Hearing the V10/V12 beauties and to a lesser extent V8's fly past you at 300+kph was a hugely emotional experience, hair on end type stuff.

I agree with you. that's very wise words by someone that chose such an infantile screen name. yes, mine-technically speaking, that is-isn't any better in that regard .. but still
@tygobermind364010 ай бұрын
Nowadays it's Netflix and social media BS that draws crowds to the track.

I'm glad we still have vids like this. If the FIA and Ecclestone get what they want we will soon watch to cars with a 1.8L turbo engine!!! :-( If that happens i won't watch anymore!

Brilliant stuff from Berger. Great slides and stabbing at the throttle, particularly around Portier and La Rascasse. And of course an incredible scream from the Ferrari V12.

This race couldn't have been easy at all for Berger since not only did it fall just two weeks after the deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at Imola, but in Thursday practice fellow Austrian driver Karl Wendlinger fell into a coma after a head-on collision with the barrier approaching the Nouvelle Chicane. It was thus quite an achievement that Berger finished third.

Only someone that drove the 1600hp benetton of '86 would have the balls to push this V12 round monaco sliding like that.
@McLarenMercedes15 жыл бұрын
in the 1967 season yes in the 1951 season they used a 1,5 litre supercharged V16, very powerful with 550hp compared to the 400hp of the Alfa Romeos, and 360hp of the V12 Ferrari, sadly the BRM P15 was extremely unreliable too and only ever won non-championship events...
@mrfadec12 жыл бұрын
tremendous driving by Berger! right on the limit!! he is a very quick driver!!
@HxTurtle2 жыл бұрын
while his driving displayed here looks spectacular, it's not "on" but rather "over" the limit. that's not the quickest way around a track, unfortunately.

The 1995 Ferrari V-12 had an extra 1,200 RPM on this 1994 Ferrari which raised the RPM to 17,400. Do a youtube search on Ferrari F1 412T2 V12 SOUND Montreal 1995 (great sound).
@McLarenMercedes15 жыл бұрын
type "BRM V16 engine sound" as a search the H16 was esentially two 1,5litre V8's from BRM as sort of a stop gap before their own V12 was ready for the 1968 season Jackie Stewart drove for BRM in 1967 and said the engine was better suited as a ship's anchor than a racecar engine Jim Clark won the 1966 US GP with a Lotus-BRM with said H16 engine...

did it include the engine? too often, that's not part in such auctions. "empty" cars can still reach three to four millions, usually.

What's your point? I could link to 10 threads on the engine, but none prove it had 1600hp. The dyno reported 1300+, but they never used such an aggressive tune so it's moot.

Comparing this with the cars from today makes todays racing so boring. The great different sounds in the past from a V8/V10/V12 and now only a V8. Let's travell back in time!
@McLarenMercedes16 жыл бұрын
I agree but the flat12 of 1970's Ferrari Boxers in F1 sounded better still. The BRM V16 sounds like nothing on earth...
@HxTurtle2 жыл бұрын
I think they were never actually "flat" .. just V engines with an 180 degree opening angle. sounds like the same, but it's not.

1600.... yeah alright ;) Quali trim was more like 1100hp (max). BMW reportedly got 1300hp on the dyno, but alas that never saw the racetrack. 1600 is silly.
@HxTurtle2 жыл бұрын
all power output gets measured on a dyno. I'm not getting your point. BMW measured 1,450hp .. the maximum their "Prüfstand" could withstand. so, no one knows exactly what said engine taken from a conventional car that produced 70hp actually delivered. but many believe it's a figure in the low 1,500s. it would fall apart after five kilometers, though. Berger won in Mexico because his car had the "biggest turbo" .. making up for the thin air. there's also calculations from the Monza qualifying the very same year supporting those claims (where Berger only qualified third because his engine blew up right after Parabolica .. forcing him to "cost" to the finish line).

no, you're missing the whole point. the imperfect picture only completes the whole impression. part of why people nowadays say, "oh, this just looks like a video game" is because of the crystal clear picture .. it's actually taking away any, umm, "uncertainty." watching this, you've to use your mind and imagination .. similar to reading a book .. where people are also typically disappointed by the cinema adaptation.
