As a Dutchy I say… please don’t refer to Heineken, Amstel or Stella or any major beer brands. Also morretti is a big no no. Italian food is great, but their beer sucks. Btw. Bira morretti is owned by Heineken. An embarrassment compared to all the craft Belgium ( and Dutch) beers. The world would be so much better without the international beer brands, including some of the German and British.

@@janvandoren8910 well i´m from Finland and i have to say that i like quite mild taste beers. Dutch beers are always been my favourites. If i don´t mention those three major brands i think Hollandia, Bavaria and Oranjeboom are very much for my taste. I haven´t seen Oranjeboom here in Finland in any shop ever, but as i were younger and i worked at the local harbour we (our team) got one 24 case of the beer and we all got two cans of it. At the lunch time me and my two friends opened the first cans and took a sip. Many times that we got beer from some other countries those tasted like shit, but that time we all looked each other and we were amazed that it was really good. No-one of us had never even heard such brand (those three major brands are well known here too). In early 2000 one bigger market chain imported Bavaria and Hollandia. Those had quite low price and Hollandia were propably one of the cheapest beers that they had. So i bought it many times even that i like more of Bavaria. I had drinked Bavaria earlier in one local pub late 90s and i liked that instantly.

As a Belgian it is very important to say to foreigners that we have a old beer culture developing many centuries, giving rise to such a wide range of beer types and flavours. Those pilsners (around 5-6%) are considered as light beers and mostly drunk at parties, after work days, ..., as 'fast drinks'. Those stronger beers (starting at 8%) are more like 'slow drinks' you enjoy in small sips along with snacks like cheese. You drink these more for the flavour, and in the beginning you have to learn to drink them. But once used to it, the high alcohol precentage is not bothering any more. (Btw, 8% is still average. My personal favorite is Kasteel Cuvée, a dark beer of 11%.)

Duvel is definitely an acquired taste, it's very bitter, and considered a "real man's beer" here. The 6.66 is the "light" version tho, normal Duvel is 8.5% and packs a real punch! :)Some of my favorite beers to try : Tripel Karmeliet, Cornet or Omer

they don't make the classic Duvel anymore. The original beer had yeast at the bottom of the bottle and when you bought one in a pub they would not pour the whole bottle but leave about one fifth in so that you could decide whether you wanted the yeast in your glass or not.

As a Flemish Belgian myself, I am always curious to what non natives think of our beers. A few comments: - small one: Albert Heijn is a supermarket chain from the Netherlands - Jupiler and Stella Artois are like the standard beers you have at parties and when you have people come over. Like you said: nothing offensive and neutral, so most people will be content with them. I like to drink it when I worked a whole day in the garden. - Hoegaerden is a bit lighter on the alcohol side, but has some citrus zest in it. Tastes best when the weather is sunny and you don't want anything heavy. - Proost is the Dutch word for Prost - I like kriek also:) or in general, the more sweet beers. I like Liefmans (on the rocks) a lot More in this direction: there is a cherry Chouffe (Houblon), which tastes a lot like a kriek, but is 8,5%. - From Chimay I don't really like the white one, but the blue one is very good (I saw someone mention this also). - One I truly miss, is Tripel Karmeliet. Great beer! - maybe you can make a video series dedicated to krieks or triples?

Tasting Belgian beers being German is just a different thing. Germans like a standard taste and drink A LOT ! It's all about the volume! Belgians do not drink volume they drink quality and like a clear identity. That's why there are SO many Belgian breweries and as already said there are more than 1500 different beers. From a number of brands you chose the styles that were recently added to cater to modern styles: The Bush beer was infused with peach juice, the Duvel was a spin off from the traditional beer. And from Chimay I would always pick the Chimay Blue (the double) in my opinion the best double beer in Belgium. My favorites: The traditional Duvel in summer and the Chimay Blue in winter. But I love to try new beers... There are so many good beers. The shape of the glass really influences the beer tasting sensation! Another advise: Never drink so many styles on 1 occassion. Some of the beers have living yeast in them and might upset your stomach when mixed with other styles of beer !!!

YES. Most high% are usually made for room temperature, jupiler you get cold. Much high % need 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. Some 5 to 8. As I say before: go blond or dark or pils = between as jupiler and cristal/ or go fruit mix. Don't mix all together = taste bomb. 1 beer destroy the other. I tasted like 100 different belgium beers/ Germany the same. For me? This beers are more like drink oettinger etc in Germany. 70 to 80 % I don't like from those 10. Next time? Ask what we drink here. As a Belgian, i find it so funny that almost every foreigner is overwelmed by the high percentages. Hence most of the time they don't like it. The percentages you guys are used to, we drink as a refreshner after work. Just like a soda :p The stronger beers here have soooo many different flavors and that is what makes it so good. We also drink these "slowly". Belgians don't just drink liters of beer (at least most of us) like they do on something like october fest. We enjoy the flavors and take our time to take it all in. BTw most of those fruit flavored beers are consumed and enjoyed by women here. Cause it is sweeter and easyer to drink than the more bitter and hop tasting beers For some other good beers. Here are some suggestions. - Trippel Karmeliet - Cornet - Gouden Carrolus Trippel Also little tip. Clean the glass between different drinks. Or use a new one. Since the resting flavor might influence the new beers taste.

As a Belgian on the Flemish side i’m very familiar with these beers. All are very different in taste and basicly the most standard beers available in Belgium. This is a good start for tasting Belgian beers. I would haven chosen differently, but this works also. About Kriek. It’s beer that mostly is popular by women. I would have gone with a Lambic or Geuze, because of the taste. You have to taste this first to rate a Kriek beer. I liked it too, but can’t drink anymore, because of health issues. Don’t worry. I’ve drink my beers😉. On another note. I love the content. Keep up the good work😃

I go the oposite way, a rarely drink something lower then 6%, i love the strong taste, but a only drink one, or sometimes 2 in an evening ;-) , if it's a tripple most likely one, i simply imagine a tripple as 3 pils beers, and double as 2 , and i think that a pretty okay image to keep in mind if you want to drink, but also preffer never to get into really drunk feeling ;-),

This is a fun watch, but for next time, a tip is to build up the percentages and flavours. If you start off with a strong alcoholic and flavoured beer, then yeah obviously the Jupiler will taste watery. So build it up. Look up the flavour profiles - put high alcohol and high flavour at the end. i would have started with the Jupiler, then the Hoegaarden, then maybe the peach and kriek, after that I would have put the more strongly flavoured ones, ending with the Westmalle, which is very potent. It might change your view on the beers.

I work as a brewer in a lambic brewery. Lambic is a beer which is fermented in open air. The yiest is specific to the Zennevallei region and gives a specific taste. Lambic is flat beer, it has no co2 so not carbonated. To make Geuze you need to mix young and aged lambic to start the fermentation in the bottle. It is typically a sour beer. All lambic breweries make fruit beers, mostly kriek. Some brands are sweeter then other.

in Belgium, the legal drinking age is sixteen. From that age, you can start drinking beers and wines (no strong liquors until you're 18). Maybe that explains our higher tolerance. Hahahaha, always the same thing, Germans just want to have a big glass of low alcohol beers (a pilsner/heffeweisen/kellerbier). In Belgium it's very normal to have just 2 or 3 beers in a pub, it's all about flavor, not getting drunk. Personally i like more the darker beers like the dubbel, quadrupel and yes they are higher in alcohol because they try to get more complexity in the beers. In a fact most people will drink the higher alcohol beers, because they think (wrongly) that its just much beter. The banana flavore has to do with Belgian yeast. The Duvel 6,66 - is not the standard 'Duvel' though. Very nice and funny video ! 🙂

I have lived in Belgium for close to 9yrs now. Also lived in Germany for 3yrs but travel there often. I don't want to be bias, but Belgium is special. The variety and diversity of beer brewed is the best in the world. For Westmall, Tripel is the best. For Chimay, The Blue or Rouge. I use the double for making Flemish stew. For IPA, Brussels Beer Project Delta IPA is hard to beat Jupiler the most mainstream beer, its like a Budweiser for the US. Lindermans is a great brewery and beer! This region (Flemish Brabant) is really popular for Lambic and Geuze fruit beers. The Duvel 666 is amazing beer for the summer! I actually live close to Brasserie Dubuisson (PecheMel), It has a nice cafe to enjoy when the weather is nice. The important part to understand about the beers and the alcohol % is that Belgians don't drink like Germans with the steins. It's sipped, enjoyed and treated like like a fine wine. The glass is part of the presentation and experience. Take your time with them. Sometimes it takes letting the beer warm and let some of the aromas and taste develop.

Fun video! As a Belgian, yes the Jupiler is your bog standard beer that you get at football games/nights out etc (same as stella artois, maes, etc..). You probably would have had better flavors in half of these if you at least poured them correctly and into a right type of glass. The Duvel and most of the trappists etc that you got need to have a more rounded, wine-style glass, and need to be poured in a specific way to get the flavors out :)

Personally, I enjoy the more esoteric Belgian brands like Del Dolle, Piraat, Biere de Boucaneer, Hof ten Dormaal, Brassiere de Silly, among others. Also if you are drinking Belgian beers you should do a special on their Christmas beers as they are epic. My favorites are Gouden Carolus Noel, Corsendonk Christmas, and the absolute best (if you can find it) Scaldis Prestige de Nuits.

8:15: Most people would indeed consider the "kriek" (very fruity) style lambic beer as "girly" (although that's rather stereotypical/shortsighted). It's very interesting to try the other style lambic beer like Geuze. That brings in way more sourness and less pure fruit. Like "Oud Beersel" or "Oude Geuze Boon". It might be a bit of an acquired taste. If you like sourness, you will love that type of beer.

A lot of Belgian yeasts have banana and close flavors much like a Hefeweisen. A lot of the Trappist beers also have candy sugar or coriander or other adjuncts in them that add to the flavor. I love Chimay blue St. Bernardus Abt 12. So many great Belgian beers. I also love some of the Flemish wild ales fermented by natural yeast and often barrel aged/blended and have sour characteristics or have Brettanomyces wild yeast. Cantillon is a favorite.
@jpdj2715
@jpdj2715 8 ай бұрын
Lambic and kriek are different things and not necessarily married. Lambic only references spontaneous fermentation. In the original versions of the German Reinheitsgebot no mention is made of yeast as it still needed to be discovered. Beer is like vegan soup from ground grains like malted (sprouted) barley and that soup is left to ferment. Just leave the vessel with the soup open to the air and fermentation will happen. Or alternatively, add your favourite cultivar of brewers-yeast. "Kriek" is a sour cherry variant. So the kriek lambic that you drank in the video is a lambic beer that had cherries added to the vegan soup. As it was produced through fermentation it deserves to be called beer. The alcohol content depends on sugars or carbs available to the yeasts as these yeasts eat those and pee alcohol out to put it bluntly. When the yeasts have eaten all the sugars in the soup, they die and become a sediment with a very high vitamin B content. If you want to get to a higher ABV, then you need to add sugar after the first brew so fermentation can restart, but this may require a different species or cultivar of yeast because at some point the alcohol becomes a problem to the yeasts. The second fermentation makes a beer "dubbel" (double) and this can be followed by more rounds of fermentation for triple or quadruple. Note that e.g. whiskey is distilled beer - maybe to 70% ABV that next must get most of its taste from the interaction between the alcohol and the wood of the barrel. The late and great Belgian chansonnier Brel had a song called "it smells like beer from London to Berlin", referencing Belgium. And the Belgians have a decades old and still running series of cartoon books (Suske & Wiske) in which one of the main characters is called Lambiek (the Flemish/Dutch spelling of lambic) and you can guess why. Today some Belgians may think they invented beer and make the best in the world. Well, the entire North-West European space (inhabited by the descendants of Germanic tribes and that includes the Franks that gave their Germanic name to France) drank beer as Medieval or Renaissance, and later, alternative to water or today's soft drinks. Tea and coffee replaced that in part. After filtering the first brew, the sediment got some vegan soup added and a new fermentation would be started. In what is the Netherlands today, this could be repeated many times. And this is how our ancestors got to gentlemen's, men's, women's and children's beer. You will also find that the old families that owned those breweries may have tight connections with old nobility. In the NL, most transportation was done over water and that included water to brew beer, or beer. The breweries would generally be located along a canal for that and the quay along the canal in Dutch would be called the "bierkaai" - we have a saying that something is like "fighting against the beer quay" (vechten tegen de bierkaai) when it is a losing or uphill battle. At the beer quay, the strongest men in town would work and they would be more or less drunk all day (full of Dutch courage the Brits would say). In cities like Amsterdam and Haarlem, you still have "Brouwersgracht" (brewers canal) or "Brouwersvaart" (brewers canal) addresses and this is where the brewers all used to be in these cities.

Duvel 6,66 is quite recently launched, but it's not their best beer. You should've gotten a classic Duvel (the one with the white label and red Duvel logo). It's our is our most popular strong blonde. And about Lambic, not all lambic's are sweet. The one you tried is actually the sweetest kind of lambic because of the added Sour Cherises (which we call "krieken", hence the name "kriek"). There's also geuze, which is mixed old and young lambic. Usually the Geuze are the sour ones. My favourite kind of beer used to be Vlaams Roodbruin (Flanders red ale). It's a red-brownish beer that's typical to my region (West-Flanders). It has a fruity taste (prume, raspberry, ...) with a moderate to strong sour aftertaste. It's also the kind of beer that's the closest to wine according to some. Actually: bourgogne Des Flanders is a Flanders red ale from Bruges, made by mixing brown beer with lambic from Timmermans (a lambic brewery from Itterbeek, which is close to Brussels). Also: you should try adding Flemish Red Ale to a Flemish stew But in general, yea there's a "learning curve" to appreciating the tastes of our stronger beers. I actually prefer our stronger beers, because as you said: our pilsners are watery. They just don't pack a punch like an Omer, La Chouffe etc.

So i am Dutch, my mother is German in ancestry and my father is 3rd class Belgian/wallonian, i live near NRW and heres the thing. German beers are Lagers, your typical pilseners, weizen, witbier, and stuff like that. I have no idea why its called that but Lager is taken from the German word Lagern. Belgian types are Ales which are typically stored longer and fashioned in a wine type of way! So where German beer is more crisp and refreshing, Belgian styles are more tasteful, even the beers you guys dont like have more flavors than a lager because they are kept in the cellar longer with other types of yeast that makes it more bubbly and shit like that! I like a different type of beer, its the Barley wine, whenever you guys go to Albert Heijn try a Grolsch Kanon or Hertog Jan Grand Prestige (especially the HJ one is really amazing in taste) its like a bold flavor full wine kind of beer

When I was in my 20's I was into German and British beers and loved them. I tried a few Belgian beers and had no use for them. When I visited Belgium in my 50's, I revised my opinions of Belgian beers. SO much variety! SO many different flavor profiles! One beer bar in Brugges has over 300 beers! That's a lot of beers for a small country! I still love German and British beers, and American beers have (mercifully) gotten better. However, Belgian beers are my thing. Sadly, the Reinheitsgebot put German brewers into a straight jacket. I understand they why of it, but it is not without drawbacks. I was a bit disappointed in the video that you didn't mention WHY you didn't like this beer or that beer, or what made like this other one. You can do better.. you have done better.

As a beer brewer/beer nerd, I love these videos. Most German beers are Session beers that you can drink a lot of and enjoy the experience with friends, etc (I love them). The Belgian styles (specifically the Abbey styles) were required to serve to pilgrims at the abbey and not necessarily for mass consumption thus a little higher ABV. The banana flavors are definitely yeast driven and fermented at the higher temperature end of the yeast's capability (but should be fruity esters). The Belgians were not constrained with the German Rheinheisgebot (Water, yeast, malt, hops) and are all about experimentation so celebrate the different flavors. Hoegarden is a perfect example of this freedom. The lambic styles also but I dont' care for them and definitely wouldn't brew them. Duvel was brewed by the Moortgart brewery which had links to the Nazi party. You probably got a bad batch as the characteristic of all high ABV Belgians is that they shouldn't taste high in ABV. I don't know what temp you were serving these at, but would most likely be best warming up to at least 40 deg F.

Honestly you cannot compare a Jupiler which is a normal pils against other style of beers. A pils is meant to be drunk when it's very hot outside, while you're working in your garden, renovating a house, helping friends move, or when you drank too many stronger beers and you need to sober up. Everybody has his favorite pils, but because the taste of pils isn't that outspoken, we don't mind drinking another brand of pils when there is no other option (we will complain though 🙃) . Now when it comes to the other styles of beer they are worlds apart. Most people have their top 10 and hardly ever deviate from that. my top 10 + other go to beers 1 Fourchette 7.5% 2 Omer 8.5% 3 Trippel Karmeliet 8.4% 4 Duvel Trippel Hop Citra 9.5% 5 Sint Bernardus Abt12 10.5% 6 Chimay Bleu 9% 7 Sloeber 7.5% 8 Piraat 10.5% 9 Bush Amber 12 10 Cornet Oaked 8.5% 11 Gulden Draak Classic 10.5% 12 Kasteel Tripel 11% 13 Filou 8.5% 14 Jungle Joy 5.9%

ABInbev has the tendency to brew their Stella Artois and other brands in their portfolio all over the world. Even in the UK the Stella isn't the "real" Stella despite being so close to their "home". If you want a true Stella (or anything from the ABInbev portfolio that originates in Belgium) you have to drink it in Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Maybe also Germany and the Netherlands but I've seen non-Belgian brewed ones (most obvious is the alcohol percentage, everything brewed outside of Belgium has a lower alcohol content and you can also notice it true the bar code). ABInbev (the world's biggest brewery and still controlled by 4 Belgian families who own through various constructions nearly 30% of the group) was one of the first brewers to jump on the international expansion train and has been growing for decades now. Unfortunately this also means that due to their size they brew the whole portfolio of brands virtually all over the world. So that "premium" Stella you might get on the other side of the globe is likely to been brewed locally and not in Belgium. In Belgium Stella is nothing more than other "pilsners", they might to try to brand it as premium but it's just your average pils beer. Just like Jupiler (also brewed by ABInbev) is. But hey, the brand is recognisable and if people want to pay a premium to drink a "Belgian, premium beer" it's their right to and in the mean time the families controlling the group are cashing big time. I've found that the Stella brand has been slowly replace in Belgium by their Jupiler brand, back in the day you saw Stella branded bars around the country, these days it's fewer and fewer.

Lovely video! As a Belgian I'd like to say, beers taste different depending on the glass they are served in. You should always try drink it in the original glass. Also always drink beers cold, never room temperature... If you go to Antwerp, there is a bar who serves the best Stella Artois in the world! Must try... PS: Beers from tap taste way better than bottled or canned beers! So maybe try that next time :)

Nice to see a Belgian beer video. Contrary to Germany, the Netherlands, the UK,... a normal beer has an alcohol percentage of 5% minimum, you might find some lower (fruit beers and non alcoholic beers (here in Belgium the non-alcoholic beers still contain alcohol). Back in the day there was a nice cartoon doing the rounds of a cow drinking Belgian beer (you had many variations, in my town it was Palm, the local brewery) and the pee was sold as Heineken. That's virtually how Belgians see foreign beers 😂I'm not a beer drinker myself, I rarely drink alcohol (although I love single malts) but I wouldn't be Belgian if I didn't try them at least. Personally from your collection I don't like the Jupiler, the Hoegaarden and the Lindemans. But then they are also high production industrial beers. The Duvel you bought isn't the "real deal", it's is little brother with less alcohol. The real Duvel has 8,5% alcohol in it. The Saint-Bernardus is an interesting one. Technically it's virtually the same as the West-Vleteren trappist, maybe the most scarce beer in the world since you can technically only buy in the abbey with the monks. Saint-Bernardus originated from West-Vleteren but is brewed outside the abbey, the major difference is that they use an other water source (and yes, you can taste that) and West-Vleteren uses yeast from Westmalle these days. Saint-Bernardus still uses the original West-Vleteren yeast. So if you want to a cheaper more readily available version of the rather exclusive "West-Vleteren 12" you can buy the Saint-Bernardus 12 instead. If you want to try the true original West-Vleteren beers yourself you can order them from the monks via the internet (yes, they stepped into the 21st century) and have them delivered at home (only in Belgium). But you can only order beer on specific days, the orders to collect yourself on site are on Wednesday, the home delivery orders are on Saturday. And if the beer is gone, it's gone, you'll have to wait another week. Now my town has the Palm brewery, Palm is the most famous Belgian amber beer (although people from Antwerp will say their "Koninck" is the most famous, nope you wish 😂). These days Palm is unfortunately owned by a Dutch brewer's family since there was no succession in the family that brews Palm and others. So technically Palm can be considered a Dutch beer now 🤣, since amber beers have been declining they jumped (I think a decade ago) on the heavy beer wagon and brewed a concurrent for the Duvel beer. (Duvel is brewed the next town over) called "Cornet". It's gaining some traction as a premium beer and according to some people it's better than Duvel (I don't like Duvel nor Cornet tbh). What you call "strong" beers are actually quite average, not really strong. West Vleteren 12 for example, a dark trappist, has an alcohol percentage of 10,2% and a very popular dark abbey style beer called "Kasteelbier" has an alcohol percentage of 11% (and if I remember correctly it used to be around 12 to 14% a few decades ago). So what we consider "strong" beers are around the 10% mark and above. Anyway, love to see more of Belgian beer tastings, we have plenty to choose from, for our tiny country we have nearly 400 breweries and 1.600 different beers on average. So buckle up, you've only started 🤣

Fun fact about the Peche Melbush, those are originaly 2 beers that were popularly mixed together in bar and cafe, the "Pecheresse" from the Lindemans brewery and the "Bush" from the dubuisson brewery, the mix was so popular that the Dubuisson brewed their version of the Pech MelBush which is great but still fall short (imo) to the mix of the two beer (half/half). Part of why they began mixing the two beer is because the "Bush" is a really strong beer (12%) while the "Pecheresse" is about the same as the Kriek (3.2), so the mix goes around 7-8% and is waaaay more palatable.

That Duvel 6.66 is very nice but quite different from the normal Duvel (which is 8.5%), the special thing about 6.66 is that it's made with six different hop variaties. About the strong alcohol, be very lucky you haven't tried St Bernardus Abt 12 then.... Yes, 12% and comparable to Westvletern 12

You took several of the great brands. Shame you didn’t take the best version of their beers. You chose Chimay white label and you should have taken the blue label. Westmalle tripel is the one to go for. The normal Duvel doesn’t taste that bitter. Improve it. You don’t drink those Belgian beers out of those glasses you use. That’s blasfemie 😅 Since when is 7-8% a strong beer. You forgot the best of all imho: Rochefort blue cap and Karmeliet tripel. Advise: always start with the lightest in % alcohol and work your way up. I’m Dutch by the way but I love a great beer.

Yeah it’s a half assed review. A bit of research in advance would have ensured they had the most popular of each type of beer and a few words of backstory so they understand the purpose and context of each beer. Like, how do you complain that an IPA is light colored and bitter, it’s the whole purpose of an IPA. Then they pick a chouffe “houblon” (hop) and complain about bitterness… jeez

The thing is in Belgium we drink beer like how Italian drink coffee; strong but in small amounts. Germans on the other hand drink beer like how Americans or Turks drink coffee: not super strong but a lot of it. Also, I understand you don't have a different type of glass for each beer, but at least clean your glass with water before you try the next beer. You're not trying them, you're mixing them.

Sorry my belgium friends but I think that Belgium beer is very overrated. Your marketing is great though! Germany has by far the best beer. Super long, old tradition and variety paired with highest quality ingredients. Ok lets look a bit at the numbers... - Amount of beer brands in Germany: 5500, Belgium: 1500 - Oldest beer maker in Germany: 1050 (Weihenstephan Benedictine monastery oldest in the world), Belgium 1445 Of course you are free to disagree but just compare and try both. You will surely get headache after a couple of belgium beers while german beer due to the "Reinheitsgebot" keeps flavor and your head clear.

Thanks for sharing your opinion! Talking about numbers, Belgium is roughly 12 times smaller than Germany, and population wise 6 times smaller. Thus, although I don't believe 'the numbers' are very telling, Belgium is putting up quite a fight against Germany when it comes to beers. Especially more so considering both countries excel at different areas of expertise of brewing.( Lighter beers vs heavier beers) I believe both countries have a rich history in beer making, but which one you consider the best boils down to which style of beer you prefer.

Word of advise, when tasting our fine beers; allways make sure you have the correct glasses. It might sound silly but trust me when i say this: every beer tastes differently in their own glasses. Even Jupiler ( wich is an ultra common bar beer ) tastes it best when served in a jupiler glass. I dont like Duvel either but you would be surprised how much better it tastes when you drink it out of the typical Duvel glass. ALSO! The way you pour it in the glasses, the amount of foam on top of the beer is important for experiencing the true taste of these beers. Yes, we Belgians take our beers to serious but that's also the reason why we have the best beers in the world.
