I live in Pennsylvania USA. Until recently, I never spent much time thinking about my German ancestry. Watching your video makes me realize how much of German culture there is here where I live. The flowers in boxes everywhere, the food, the countryside. It’s no wonder Germans were attracted to settling in Pennsylvania years ago!

Now I’m really hungry for German food. Everything looks delicious and the scenery is beautiful.

So sad about Queen Elizabeth‘s passing 😢 she represented so much to the British people and the world x. There is no equal. Thanks for sharing all your delicious meals 😍😘

Ah, it takes me back to having dinner at my German Grandparents home! So many wonderful memories 💖 We do do make German dishes on our house but they just don't seem like Grandmother's and Grandfather....he could bake anything! Thank you so much, and deep condolences in mourning the Queen .

German cuisine is so delicious! My grandmother, who was raised in the Hamburg area of Germany, cooked my grandfater's favorite dishes from southern Germany. He was from Mogglingen. The German potato salad we make here near Philadelphia is made with cooked potatoes, bacon, onion, bacon fat, vinegar & sugar dressing. It is sooo delicious.

Love to see all the German dishes! I've only had German potato salad with bacon, onion, mustard, sugar, vinegar and oil. The dish your mother made looks good also! We have a German town named Frankenmuth near where I grew up and when I go there I enjoy good German dishes. Now it makes me want to make those dishes! When you get home, you'll have to look at your wedding pictures again to refresh your memories. Thanks for your wonderful videos!

We were in Germany many years ago and lived on pastries. So beautiful and delicious. We weren't too fond of the German dishes, but we really didn't know what to order. Everything looked delicious in your video. We may need to take another trip to Germany to try something new!

Janis here. We use the tripod in Canada as well. It’s mostly used with a Cast iron dutch oven. We do use the grill as well. Usually when hunting. It’s easier to take with you to set up base camp. Thank you for sharing. It’s so nice you take us on your trips. 🥰

This was wonderful! Totally unique! Germany is very beautiful & so enchanting! I loved it! Also, the food at the barbeque, as well as the 'Rinderrouladen', especially, looked delicious & this was such a unique way of barbequing too! The cakes & desserts looked divine & so scrumptious as well! The Ice cream Parlor was charming & the 'spaghetti' Ice Cream you ordered is really 'cute!' I am certain that "Children' of all ages, all over the world, would love their Ice Cream served in such a 'cute' & unique way. Yet, sadly, I have never seen it served this way before. Well, 'children' are certainly missing out on such a 'cute' & delightful treat, that's for sure! The Castle & grounds are truly lovely as well! What a beautiful place to visit or to have had your Wedding Photos taken. It would be delightful & so intriguing to see you both from back then, especially in your Wedding Photos, but, we certainly realize, understandably, that this would be too personal & imposing on your Privacy. So, we will just have to use our imagination instead, but I am sure you both would have still looked as 'lovely' as always! 'Thank you for sharing this totally unique & delightful experience!

That potato salad looks divine (I hope you can prepare it on your show sometime), and that plate of sauerkraut and sausages--- yum! The desserts and coffee are on a whole other level! And congratulations on 30 years of wedded bliss!! you two are still like newlyweds. So satisfying to see Joerg drinking his favorite brew at the bbq grill in the backyard; he looks so relaxed! One little observation: the tablecloth on the outdoor table with the images of various flowers is just so adorable!! I bet your mother has had it for a very long time. I taught English for a year in Braunschweig 1974/75. I fell in love with Bratwurst and Schnitzels - which you can thankfully get online in the UK. I drank coffee for the first time - and it was heavenly with Black Forest Gateau.

I love sauerkraut with wurst and mustard. Hahndorf was settled by germans in the nineteenth century and although german is no longer spoken herecexcept by more recent arrivals culinary traces remain! Bienenstich, pretzels, wurst sauerkraut , strudel

I wish there would be German restaurants in my area. I've used my dad's recipe for German potato salad, which uses bacon and onions and has a piquant flavor from apple vinegar and sugar. It can be served warm or cold. I'm so glad you two were having a great time and hung out with your parents!

Never saw that coming. And I have been to Germany back in the 80s and had my first born in Wurzburg. However, this has opened up a whole new world and perspective.
