people say latin was a language only priests could read... but really priests were the only ones who could read. Oh, and some gentry. And they read latin - so they could communicate across Europe instead of in their non-unified, parochial dialect. Luther's translation being a political, rather than a practical step, is played down a lot (I believe it was both)

The way you pronounce "landsknecht" sounds like you want to say land-snail in german :D The correct pronounciation is lants-knecht (the ch is approximately the same sound as the "h" in "hue"). Also, Truchsess wasn't a name of Georg, but his hereditary title. You could also have made it easier to pronounce for you by just using the more modern term "seneschall" or stewart in english.

Good overall review of this conflict. However, Luther always gets a bad rap for what he said about the peasants. If you actually read his response to the 12 articles Luther AGREES with the peasants on some issues (saying that they should have a say in who their religious leaders were and that the nobles were acting like tyrants) but states some issues were constitutional and not religious so he couldn't say more. Luther was one of the first men in the modern era who recognized the need for separation of church and state. Once the peasants (who told Luther they were peaceful) started to murder, steal, and pillage, Luther then told the nobles to put down the revolt. Luther felt his verbal support for the peasants was betrayed by their violence.

Wow.. this is going to sound crazy but I came across this video while doing some research on a memory I had. In this memory I was wearing white headdress, brown kind of pointed shoes, dress down to my ankles, and I was holding a basket of bread. It was kind of cold and I remember trying to run away because there was fear and chaos around me and when I turned around to run it was too late I was stabbed by those spears that they were holding in this video, right in my chest. So I think I was one of the peasants killed in this war as crazy as that sounds. Past life memory confirmed I think 😂😂🤷🏽♀️
