Yes, its a myth. I saw the game back in 1982. Our true, real, German team gave us wonderful games like this (just to see the woke cry, yes they existed back then too, they just hadnt a name for it), the FRA-GER schocker, and there was ITA-BRA. The greatest WC ever, by far, and a few tousand miles more. Great memories.

Das Spiel war bis weit in die zweite Halbzeit völlig in Ordnung. Ich empfehle, sich das Spiel mal komplett ohne Ton anzuschauen. Ein Großteil der Kritik daran ist völlig überzogen. Die Deutschen hatten z.B. nach dem 1:0 noch 5 Eckstöße. Es ist schlicht falsch, wenn immer wieder behauptet wird, die Spieler beider Mannschaften hätten nach dem 1:0 die Arbeit verweigert.

Ich hab´s gesehen, damals 1982. Ein völlig normales Spiel (wenn auch auf Sicherheit in der späten zweiten Hälfte). Solche Spiele gab´s damals tonnenweise mit ital. Mannschaften. Alle waren glücklich, außer MSM und die woken Linksgrünen. Ja, diese Unart enstand schon in den 70igern. Alles deutsche sei schxxe. Selbsthass der selbsternannten Eliten... Unnötig zu sagen D hatte 1982 einen der besten Kader aller Zeiten. Allein im Sturm gabs dutzende Weltklasse-Spieler. Völler, KAllofs, Burgsmüller, DHoeness, DMüller... Legenden, mussten aber alle zu Hause bleiben, wegen Platzmangels im WM Kader. Und auf Diva Bernd Schuster konnte auch non chalant verzichtet werden. So gut war D damals, und die MSM konnten uns diese grossartige WM nicht versauen, damals nicht, heute nicht. Immer noch die beste aller Zeiten.

Both of these teams should've been disqualified and removed from that WC instantly after this match. Unfortunately, double standards and hypocrisy are present in the highest levels of football till today, deliberately masked with digital technology of VAR. It can be said that today's world football scene resembles and reflects current morals in our society

things got better, you cannot deny that. Since 1986, in the last round of the WC group stage the matches are played at the same day and same time, to avoid what happened in Austria X Germany. Also, VAR made it more difficult for referees to make biased decisions . If we had VAR in 1986 world cup, the handgoal of Maradona against England would not have been validated and Maradona would get a red card.

In these 9 minutes they showed a lot of opportunities to mark a goal, and even more fouls where a lot of them would be punished with a yellow card by today's standards. If they wanted to show the real disgraces then they should opted for other scenes. Sorry, this video makes little sense. You can't show a ton of chances and speak how disgraceful the game was XD.

My 3rd most liked WC game of all time, just behind GER-FRA 1982, and ITA-BRA 1982... To see the woke cry (yes, they existed back then too, just without a name), making absurd CTs about the AUS-GER game being fixed (it wasnt ofc), it was the qualifier to be the 3rd greatest game ever... Legendary, I remember those games as if they were played last week. Great memories. The golden 80s of freedom, true sports, true patriots. And being the so-called "Disgrace of Gijón" is a lie. Only the MSM back then (and still today) cried out loud (and a few extremists/communists backing the 3rd world), but us true German fans didnt care. A win is a win. The stats dont lie either: 14 total shots on goal tries (9 if blocked shots are removed, 3 of them came in the 2nd half). There are modern games with less shots, week in week out. Myth and MSM lie debunked. Period.
