Armin is right. Large majority of hijabis are NOT liberal. If she knows a few liberal hijabi she has just been lucky. Hijab in its very nature is a non liberal choice. Liberal values collide head on with the idea of hijab

As an American feminist we fought hard for women’s rights, it feels like a front to our freedom to choose because we truly don’t know if they are free to wear it or not. You’re right we’re not going to follow women home to see if there’s a man forcing her to comply. I feel that the Hijab should be banned due to the fact that millions of women are not free to choose to wear it or not. The greatest impact your friends could have is to not wear it once free so they can show the rest of the Muslim who are not free to choose can believe what they see. It must be normalized just like Catholic women; we don’t have to cover our hair anymore because of the reformation

As a Canadian feminist of a certain age, I feel the same as you ❤ I agree with you 100%. I would only add my dislike for the Hijab includes the myth that it prevents sexual assault when it doesn't and it's been proven it doesn't. It's literally for the male gaze. It's also saying men have no agency. Hell to the no.

As a person who grow up in a country with a lot of religions covering... A lot of people miss the fact thet in these societies hair covering is the same as covering the breasts in the west . No one would think of forcing western women to go topless even in places where this is normal if they travel there. In a lot of these women it's an ingrained feeling not a choice in the logic way ( this is not unique to Islam btw . People who get out from Christman and Jewish cults also prefer a lot of the time to dress modestly after leaving the religion since they fell naked ). I don't have answers honestly just wanted to add this information point

@@bestaqua23 Not the best comparison. Showing breasts is more nudity since it’s an ”erogenous” zone, I think that’s the case biologically. And the hijab, If I’ve understood Armin and others correctly, is different in that it is mandated from males because of Islamic culture. In my view, there are other kind of clothing items that are VOLUNTARY (headbands and so) with the same function but agency.

Take a leaf out of Australia's deportation rules as a way to deport people back to their homeland when violating Australian values. A immigrants "rights" is not a given right to live in another country it is a privilige if allowed and their rights should never supercede the rights of the country and it's citizens to say no entry.

There needs to be limits to free speech that apply equally, like about political violence. But not about criticism of religion. It is appalling that people would emigrate to a country, and then be against its basic values and demand it change, rather than leave. It is INCREDIBLY arrogant behaviour, yet it is fundamental to Islam: it is how Mohammed of the quran behaved, once he had power.

Agree but I’d go further - if your activism calls for the removal of others’ rights (ie sharia) then you too should lose those same rights. If they don’t want to live under the western liberal legal system, fine, then they can’t call upon those rights and freedoms that come with it. No free speech, no ECHR, no right to protest, vote....etc

regarding he germany proposed law - germany has a law that forbids Hate speach and makes it a krime, to extend it to the support of a specificly islamist hate speah is just logical, - consequently a asylum seaking imigrant would violate the law and by doing so negate his/here right of asylum by comitting a crime. - hence they would be deported. so this "new' law is nothing but a logical conclusion of an existing legal statute.

Immigrants don't have rights until they have been accepted into the new country. Unfortunately Armin's model IS necessary and it is a right of a nation to choose who they let in and it's a country's right to decide who they think who will be a good fit and who won't.

Susan, I love your raw passion and ability to show vulnerability with sorrow, but equally, as a Romanian born Australian lady with Jewish roots, I find it rather amusing how you refer to Armin as “extremist” when to me he just seems like a typical masculine guy. You both have a comical chemistry/charm which makes your channel so engaging if not entertaining. And when I say masculine, Armin is a good example of what that looks like…Not anything like the trending bull 💩A. Susanna has a very big heart and I don't think there anyone, who wouldn't be moved by stories like these BUT she is essentially asking the West to sacrifice our own to help these people. Everytime we use resources on foreigners and other countries we have to prioritise some of our own. Not to mention that for every foreigner, that is in our country, we lose a bit of ourselves. Europe is NOT like the USA. We are NOT migrant nations. We are old people with old nations and old cultures and it seems like she cares more for some than for white Westerners. I'm sorry, but as a European I am not willng to sacrifice my own sick, old, our welfare system or our future to save everyone else. It is ALWAYS the West and never anyone else, who is asked to take responsibility, to give up something, to sacrifice our own to help the rest of the world. That is not fair. We all wish that the rest of the world was like the West but WE cannot make that happen and we cannot let everyone, who needs help or just want a better life, come and live in our countries!

You guys are inaccurate and sometimes wrong. Turkish people are descendants of Mongolian and Central Asian people. Azaris are Iranians based on DNA studies. The use of the word Turkish for both Iranian-Azaris and the people of Azerbaijan comes from the pan-Turkism, a political movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries The same is true for Iranian-Arabs. So, please correct your statements in your future programs. Thanks!

32:40 Okay , i think you go too far Armin I am FOR the ideological filter , i am surprised it has taken this long for any country to implemented but first of all, after you get your citizenship, i dont think you should be able to lose it , because if not , that would seriously hurt equality under the law ... its a big can of worms but before they get their citizenship, yeah , even likes are fair game but not for things they liked in the past , before they came to Germany or whatever country they are applying for asylum or citizenship the filter should be there , but only check for online aftivity after they arrived & stop checking after they get their citizenship sure , this will allow some people who dont deserve it to get citizenship, but the point of the filter isnt to be perfect ... its to filter out the vast majority of people that would cause problems
