why do people act like Argentina weren't good and were carried by Messi. Argentina had a very good team with good players. Lavezzi, Di Maria, Mascherano, Higuain, Augero, Biglia, Garay, Romero Messi didn't do everything and the only thing missing for Argentina during the tournament was goals. If Higuain hadn't had such a disappointing tournament Argentina could have scored more and possibly even won

Argentina had a team what are you on about? They had Lavezzi, Higuain, Augero, Biglia, Mascherano, Garay, Zabaleta, Di Maria, Romero etc. Higuain was the problem, he was a great Striker but he was absolutely useless in this tournament. If only Alejandro Sabella (god rest his soul) had seen that earlier and started Augero during the Knockout stages Argentina would have scored more and possibly won

Even after so many years, watching this gives an adrenaline rush. ARG had more chances but buckled under pressure. The Germans, as always, found a way. Glad the match did not go to a shootout.

I feel for the Argentinians but man, this generation of German footballers deserved that trophy to crown their careers. From goalie, to defenders, to midfielders to strikers, this squad had so many great and likeable players in it. I remember watching both Germany - Brazil and Germany - Argentina at home with my dad. In hindsight we should've gone to a public viewing event but it was a memorable time either way.

Here I am guys. 8 years ago, my heart was shattered. I remember crying as a sports fan for the very first time in my life. I was only 12 then. I just couldnt digest the fact that a player like Leo hadn't been able to lift the WC. 8 years on, here we are again, standing on the cusp of becoming world champions. And, AND with Leo as our captain. We are 3 days out from the biggest day in our lives as sporting fans guys. Prayers requested . 2022 was no world cup, Qatar doesn't count. The worst decision of FIFA in history letting the Cup to be played there. Also referees were clearly strongly biased for Argentina as FIFA wanted Messi to win so so badly.

Which more relay on position and movements rather than technical skills like dribbling or crazy passing They played basic football but they did that very well Direct passes through center and crosses from wing with good first touch and perfect position And using their chances effectively due to good strikers were enough for them

Im german but live in Canada and I went to visit in Germany during the 2014 World Cup and remember watching every game live and this one went to 1 o clock at night. When the game ended the whole city erupted with fireworks, horns, trumpets, screams and more🤙 still get goosebumps from that night😍

The problem was that Argentina rely so heavily on Messi when it comes to creativity. Di Maria could have helped but he got injured all the time. 3:46, good example on how Germany locked Messi's path .

Messi is the greatest player and if it wasn't Germany he played against I would have rooted for him all the way. Messi would have deserved this, but the German team deserved it more in the end: They had been working on this triumph over many years and lost two WC semis in a row before that. Many key players from the 2010 and 2006 WC were still there in 2014 (Klose was there even in 2002 when Germany lost to Brazil in the final). They deserved to finally get their reward.

I was watching as 11 y/o german kid. I remember the game made me feel immensely pressure which led to my emotions overwhelm me even though i was at a public viewing. I eventually got so exhausted from it, that i went to the car to listen the game in the radio. Then in fulltime before extra time they played calming music, and with it being late at night i accidentally missed the goal and final whistle. It was very painful knowing i missed the crucial moment, on the other hand it was probably for the best, because the state i was in that night couldve given me a heart attack 😅
