After 2 months of lockdown and no access to the high mountains it felt sooo good to be out there again and tick off a dream line 🙌 One of those lines you hear about, one of those lines only the big boys and girls ski, one of those lines maaaaybe one day in the distant future I’d get to ride if I gained more experience and all stars aligned.
But when the day before I asked Olly Alkema what he was up to and he mentioned his plans, it somehow seemed possible. He asked if I wanted to join and together with Will Derrick and Martin Waters we went for it the next day.
Nicely transformed snow in the upper section, in which we were able to gain some confidence and start linking turns. Some patches were icy though so the riding was always delicate. The more NE aspects had some pockets of colder snow, which were quite nice to ride. The bottom section of the couloir had frozen up by the time we got there and required sideslipping with two axes in hand to get to the bottom.
