Gesamtsieg beim FHR 24H Classic Rennen 2020
Nach dem Gesamtsieg des 24H Classic Rennens der FHR in 2016, dem Ausfall in 2017, dem 3. Platz in 2018 und dem 2. Platz in 2019, kamen wir erneut mit großen Erwartungen in 2020 an den Nürburgring und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Wetter weckte genau die Erinnerungen, die wir an das Regenchaos von 2016 noch hatten.
Zwar fand das Qualifying noch im Trockenen statt, das Rennen schwankte jedoch zwischen leichtem und starkem Nieselregen bei 7 Grad.
Auch wenn kaum ein Rennfahrzeug das Rennen ohne Blessuren beendete, konnte der 914/6 GT seinen Erfolg von 2016 ohne einen Kratzer wiederholen:
Gesamtsieg nach einer Renndauer von 3 Stunden!

The 914 with a proper setup and the same horsepower as a 911 can negotiate corners at a higher speed than a 911

@@stephan4750 da gibt es noch einen Beitrag , da wird Velbert vom Ringsprecher Olli Martini sogar erwähnt ... und mit dem angebeppten Kennzeichen ME kannst du das Piechgedächtniswägelchen in den Kreis Mettmann verorten ... dort liegt dann auch Velbert... gruß vom Ring

What makes the intake noise growl like that? ❤ Is that a tall trumpet and a slide throttle? Can you share where to learn more about that engine setup?

Basically, it is the combination of the camshafts, providing a very long overlap interval, the slide valve system and the velocity stacks. More details will be published on our website soon. Please look in the engine section for the "2,0 EVO V" engine later.

Hard to tell exactly what happened but it looks as though the 914 -6. was a better car then the 911 in the wet.

Of course it was the weight distribution is way better the car is more neutral

@@HoosierRooster what really got me as I researched all this Porsche history is watching the pros oversteer the 911 at way over high speed just as the normal way to keep them at speed. They steer them by balancing the rear tyres on the throttle like I can a front wheel drive car but not at those speeds, they are that good but the 914 drivers still caught them in corners but lost out to the bigger engine and grip driving out of corners. 1970 Le Mans was a victory in the wet for the 914/6 GT #40 . 6th overall. 1st in class Also interesting is the 914 had finished the race on the same tyres and same brakes.
