Beyond of excellent details about intro, sound , edition, captions, diction, etc., I think your method and estrategy of presentation take in consideration singles facts and aspects ignored by commun trusted adviser in youtube channel. Sincerly thanks for that contribution .

Thanks for this. It seems so basic but until one knows it's easy to be getting it wrong. I've been trying to figure out the two thumb positions to get the best comfort and control for ages. I have the hands of a metalworker/mechanic/sculptor, so they may be skilled/strong, but are not necessarily quick and nimble so it's a re training exercise. My left thumb is sometimes sore from asking it do this quick action, even with it being nicely on the button. The 'lifting off the key quickly' seems to aggravate it more than the pressing down. I notice your thumb has a lot of flex in the joint (and your fingers too). It's a case of learning how to do it gently but quickly in my case I think..

Hey Sim! Nice to see you here as well! You want to train your brain in understanding into having a smooth thumb action, not the thumb itself. For this reason, I would set aside 5 mins a day, choose a very simple tunes as happy birthday or twinkle twinkle or anything else and play it in slow motion. Pay attention to the thumb only! Ask someone to tape your finger around the rest if you need to, to add more awareness. My fingers are flexible yes, but you only need to understand how to rest without overdoing things. Work on your awareness more than anything else😀 let me know how you get on:)

@@LondonSaxophoneSchool Thanks Martino, I see what you're saying regarding brain/thumb. I'll try the tape thing just to see how I get on (it will possibly tell me I've been in the wrong position to begin with..). I hope you're doing ok in dealing with the pandemic. It's hit a lot of musicians/performers/artists etc really hard. I really appreciate your time in giving advice. Thank you :)

@@LondonSaxophoneSchool Hi Martino. I nearly went for the tape, but just opted to figure out where my thumb would have to be so it could be taped and I could still use the key. It did make me think about it a bit differently. I've realised what I'm doing is holding my thumb tip flexed back/up quite strongly at times and this is making the top tendon sore so I have to try to over ride this habit somehow.
