Very good info. Could you also install Proxmox VE on this Oracle instance and use it for quorum in a cluster? Obviously you would have to disable the instance from running VMs or taking storage, but would this be feasible on an instance that small? Great use of droppy by the way. Would also love to see about just setting up a mount on the Oracle instance and map it within the Proxmox interface as shared storage . . . NFS?

Hi Drey It does not make sense to install Proxmox a type 1 Hypervisor in a VM a type 2 Hypervisor I am using an old Dell PC (you could use anything) this one has 32GB RAM I added an SSD drive and two 2TB disk drives this was a cheap and effective solution that cost me less than $50 have a look at this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/otaCfrme3bG6oHk.html and this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qcWioJue1bmrk40.html

isn't the storage for the vm extremely limited? i didn't know you could connect it to proxmox which is very convenient but i'm not sure running a backup or even a cloud is possible for free

Hi there good point This solution give me a backup for my laptop In a previous video I showed using a Container Appliance to backup my server have a look at this video : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mJlmY7pnqdO8nHk.html Here I use a Proxmox Container server I dedicated for Backups
