Great. If you are looking for another jazz style lesson, perhaps a bit of bossa nova, João Gilberto style. Some of it is accessible. Even tie it in with that first Nouvelle Vague album!

I decided to finally give jazz a try based on your "10 essential jazz chords" video about a month ago, and have been practicing the chord shapes from that video and writing simple little 2-5-1 progressions every day. It has been so enjoyable and really reignited my interest in guitar. Then I saw this video to pop up today and it's exactly what I need to take the next step hahaha. Can't thank you enough!

Excellent lesson. I'm working to smoothly make these chord changes so all the notes ring out clearly. I look forward to the next video on improvising over these chords.

Yes! Love this, Adrian, thank you. Coincidentally, I was just listening to Cannonball Adderly's version of 'Autumn Leaves' this morning whilst working. Sooooo good! And yes, love all the recordings you mentioned, like the ones by Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, etc. Also love Julian Lage's version. Oh, heck, I just love it. Great lesson, as always -- so well done, and long live Jazz!🎶

That CA version is probably my favorite -- you can't go wrong with the group he put together, and that whole album ("Somethin' Else") is great.

The theme to MASH - Suicide is Painless, used the some of chord progression/melody of Autumn Leaves. You can especially hear some of the voicings and melody choices in Barney Kessel's versions.

3:29 Indeed, written by famous French poet Jacques Prévert with Hungarian-born composer Joseph Kosma. Le original title being "Les Feuilles Mortes". Gainsbourg--whose fantastic album Melody Nelson Adrian explores in a previous video--wrote a song about the song, "La Chanson de Prévert" (lit. 'Prévert's song'), for his third album, 1961's L'Etonnant Serge Gainsbourg. Probably way more information about the background of the song than anyone ever wanted!

@@acpg My pleasure--hope you've enjoyed it! It's also occurred to me that you may not be aware that Gainsbourg's fifth studio album (Gainsbourg Confidentiel, from 1964) was entirely recorded with a modern jazz duo, featuring none other than Elek Bacsik on guitar (Django's cousin!) There's some tasty jazz guitar on that one.

Hello Sir, I listen to jazz time to time...but, haven't really played it yet. I know an assorted chord or two... Can you please tell me why that "2-5-1" chord progression came about? Why is it kinda distorted that way, instead of the "1-2-5" order? 😁 I'd truly appreciate thy help. Thanks! 🙏
