@@Geoffs_Review_Corner That makes sense. Ok last question promise! If I'm using a screen that uses PWM is it best to use it at a LOWER brightness at least because that way it is flickering at a higher frequency (which is better from what I understand?) or do I have this wrong?

It depends on the monitor and screen technology. For instance some IPS panels won't start flickering until you get below a certain brightness level. Some are flicker free at all brightness settings. While OLED panels tend to flicker at all brightness levels except for max brightness.

@@Geoffs_Review_Corner Thanks for that Geoff. The more I look into this the more intricate it gets! I tried contacting Microsoft to get more info but they gave very limited answers. In this case, it's a surface pro (7 I think!) and it's linked up to two BENQ monitors. So from what I can gather, it depends on both the Surface pro and the monitor settings?

@@christerry4895 Yeah this is not a particularly well known issue, so finding people knowledgeable about it is rarely easy. Whenever I want to quickly find out if a device uses PWM, I'll just Google that device and add on either "notebookcheck" or "PWM." If it's a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, I'll use notebookcheck. If it's a monitor, I'll use PWM. So for example, to quickly find out if your Surface Pro 7 is PWM free, I would Google: "Surface Pro 7 notebookcheck" and look at their review. They will tell you if PWM is used, and if so what frequency. Generally speaking, the slower the frequency, the more painful it is for PWM sensitive individuals. Hope this helps.
