I do want to make one note: While I think NASCAR was wrong to not throw the caution after Busch jumped the curb and Truex spun... I should've expressed better in the video that the curbing itself was the primary issue of the day. IMS didn't seem prepared for how often drivers would use it, and the drivers definitely abused it throughout the race. While an additional caution may have prevented some of the carnage, the track issues themselves are most to blame. I should've spent more time talking about that in the video.

Most races have been posted on YT. Maybe radio is an option for you. I actually dislike. tv announcers. No disrespect because the former drivers know a lot but they are terrible. If you stuck a professional driver in a car his performance would be awful. You don't need to make a comment every second and talk over the others in the booth. when it's obvious what's happening. On radio, you have to imagine you're watching. I often turn the tv down and play the radio. They have done some races this year "radio style" except the audio is not well tuned. It can be hard to understand what they are saying. Put them in a plastic bubble and dampen the track noise.

You can’t blame the drivers for taking the fastest line that the rules permit or for being aggressive. I don’t think a rule should be made for it either. Drivers jump curbs at all the other road courses and to my memory that hasn’t caused a similar issue. I’d put it on the track for not using a stronger material. Hindsight is 20/20 and they’ll use a different material next year.

@@darrelladams4188 Jimmie didn’t wreck from jumping a curb. He wrecked because he had too much rear brake and spun himself out when he drove it in deep. A better argument using the roval would’ve been how dangerous the bus stop was, but they wised up and changed it like they should do next year. Speaking of next year, the gen7 is more like a sports car than a stock car so the racing on road courses is going to improve. That’s why they added so many this year; to test the waters.

The sprint car and midget features were really good. Josh Wise won the midget feature on a GWC pass - back to his roots. Kody Swanson won the sprint car feature and the Silver Crown feature and finished 3rd in the midget feature. Like all NASCAR fans are going Kody Who? He's one of the greatest drivers that hardly anyone outside of USAC has ever heard about. Winningest Silver Crown driver and that includes Tony Stewart, AJ Foyt and everyone else in it's history.

@@clemsonfan322scstrong Shouldn’t have been penalized for cutting the track. Looking at it in its simplest form: 1: Turn 1 incident between Briscoe & Hamlin should have been classified as a “racing incident” 2: Safest way for Briscoe to return to the racing surface was to cut the corner. Any attempt otherwise would have led to a “Kevin Lepage” type of incident. Addendum: After restarting following a red flag for damage to cars caused by damage to a curb, would you trust even looking at any of the other curbs at that track at that point, let alone re-enter the racing surface over one? 3: As per Nascars own history of calls and the precedent they’ve already set, Briscoe left the racing surface in 2nd position, cut through the grass, and re-entered the racing surface safely without Lepage-ing the field, while still in 2nd position. As per Kyle Busch in 2019 and more famously Dale Sr in 1987 (Pass in the Grass), so long as you do not gain position, cutting through the grass is acceptable. Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those that do not know history are doomed to never learn from history’s lessons.

According to the score sheet, Briscoe was parked and finished 26th. In F1, MotoGP, LeMans and just about every other motorsport, if you're forced off the track by contact that is not your fault, cut the track, and come out ahead but give up the spot voluntarily, there is no penalty and you continue racing (Senna/Prost nothwithstanding). Apparently in NASCAR if you are forced off the track, then it's just your fault and you should just go home.
