Another amazing detail in this scene. The contrast between Chris knowing judo and Jeremy knowing Jujutsu. For those who don't know, the two martial art forms were in competition in Japan, with the schools that taught them being rivals. Jujutsu was traditional and is based on a series of pre-arranged movements. Judo is encourages free-form movements and was a disruption to the establishment which eventually overcame Jujutsu. Judo is also about throwing your opponent, like throwing your oppressor off your back. Meanwhile, Jujutsu is all about dragging your opponent down, getting them onto the ground, like Jeremy's attempts to choke his victims out.

The brother is star of the scene, but Catherine Keener and Bradley Whitford, as the parents, are subtle in their actions. As the mother stood up, she looked at Dean tilted her head toward Chris, as if to say "your turn", and Dean gave a quick smile in return, as the mother said, "maybe clean it up a little bit". Dean immediately changed the subject to sports as a way to study Chris. Football and baseball are on opposite sides in terms of direct physical contact. Basketball is in between them. When Chris mentioned he thought MMA was too brutal, that piqued Dean's interest. And as Chris added in that he used to do judo, Dean gave a smile, as he learned that Chris' body likely had strength, flexibility and dexterity, but wasn't beat up from years of playing high level contact sports, and likely not seeking fighting as a person with nonviolent tendencies Interesting how Dean asked the about sports and said nothing to add to the conversation. The mother returned from retrieving the dessert and she said nothing to add to the conversation either

So he’s antsy to get himself into a black body, and liked Chris’s.

@@Jordan-qq6yv black people of west African descent (majority of blacks Americans) have a higher density of fast twitch muscle fibres because malaria, the parasitic virus prevalent in that region, is more likely to kill you if you have slow twitch muscle fibres. Fast twitch muscle fibres = explosive and rapid movements, great for contact and combat sports. Though in a sport like MMA being explosive will only get you so far. You also need excellent cardio, durability, and coordination/balance. I feel like the MMA subject was brought up solely because Peele wanted to make fun of how white guys love MMA lol.

I don't see why the black dude went to go meet her family at all. Unless we're talking marriage then why am I meeting them? We might breakup tomorrow or next week or something.

I’m Latino and I briefly met my white GF’s adoptive mother. We were at a trade school, and her mother came to drop off something for her. I smiled and said hello, she just walked by, gave me a dirty look, and didn’t respond. I was very pissed off and surprised at the judgment that was casted on me. This experience ruined the whole “meeting the parents” for me. Never again!

They’d only dated 4-5 months they said. I figured they’d been dating like a year! I agree I don’t see a point in taking them home to meet family if it’s just been a few months, unless you already think you’re going to marry them.

It is true because in BJJ you have to be at least three steps ahead in order to submit the other person

Not really... I mean you just need to be in the right position first. You can be totally losing and then pull of a submission.

He was perfectly unlikable. The middle finger Rose shot at him was more like a thumbs up for Jeremy being a prick. Made it real easy for Rose to win Chris' trust
