In the third part of a three-part series, Pastor Gary unpacks the Parable of the Talents. A “talent” in the Bible is not what we might commonly think. It has nothing to do with human ability, but rather is a unit of measurement. A biblical talent weighed about 75 pounds and was used in the Bible as a value for money-either a talent of silver or a talent of gold. In the parable, Jesus is teaching us about how we should manage well what He has entrusted to us while He is away. But it has more to do with the ETERNAL than the PRACTICAL. I am 40 years old and gone to church my whole life and I have read through the whole bible several time but I have always wanted to do a verse by verse study to get a deeper understand!!! My first time listening to pastor Hamricks teaching, he helped me to understand what Jesus wants his children to do. This is one of the few times I have heard this parable preached where the pastor does not use it for financial gain. I will listen to him more.

I really enjoyed this. I commented on Pt 1 I believe, that as I was scanning channels earlier I saw Tony Evan’s teaching this same parable, and he had a very different understanding of it and it didn’t make any sense to me. He said the man who buried the one talent didn’t take care of what had given him etc but that “outer darkness and weeping and gnashing of teeth is in heaven, not hell as many believe”. That can not be right! He also said some of us will be mayors and presidents in heaven and some of us janitors. And that the gnashing of teeth in outer darkness is “outside the party” which is held at night (yes I’m serious) and the gnashing of teeth means we will be filled with true regret for the first time because only in our heavenly bodies can we really feel the true depths of regret. Seeing what we’re missing ? Has anyone ever heard this taught and isn’t it completely wrong to say there will be a part of heaven described exactly as hell is described in scripture? Doesn’t the Bible say where He will wipe away every tear? How can there be such pain and anger and anguish in Heaven? I said before, I COULD be wrong but I don’t think so. Isn’t he wrong?? This is what led me to look up these verses to study myself and found your series. It was wonderful and a blessing to me.

sometimes I ask the question Where are you God.I have a daughter that has Huntingtons and she definately is not easy But non the less I love God and definately couldnt do this without Him

Praying for you, Cheryl. You are serving the Lord every day, caring for your precious daughter. He sees you, He knows you, He loves you. He understands the exhaustion. I am my husband's caregiver. Many times I cry out to Him, cuz I know I can't do it; can't go on, it's too much. He gives me strength and grace to contijue. Even Joy cuz I have been asking for Joy. Don't just want to survive each day. I need Him more than air to breathe. I try to spend time in His word and listen to scripture and sermons as I cook, clean, etc. I ask friends for prayer. Cheryl, you are precious in His sight. Reach out. Asking God to meet you in your need today, for you to feel cherished, loved. ☝🏻💫💛⚘💜🙏💜

I've asked God many times what I can do fir Him, because He's done so much for me. I don't get out much or really have any friends. I post scripture on social media and pray for others. He gave me a gift for art, painting and drawing. I'm an artist and I'm always trying to figure out how I can use that for His glory. I always feel like I'm not doing enough but I don't know what to do.

Truly blessed with the interpretation of the parable of talents. Yes we can as believer's of Christ use social media to spread the Gospel to as many as we are we are in contact. Please pray for our family. My daughter and her ex have told us to not tell our granddaughter about God. We had already been doing it but they got upset. We still try to live him in front of her, and will say something when it feels right but they have stopped her from coming here in the past, so I am afraid of that again. Anyways, pray, if you would, for all of us. 11 yr old granddaughter and her parents. That they will all find Jesus. Thank you so much.
