Hi Angela, 1-Spiritually, we forgive because it is a commandment of Christ. 2- Forgiveness frees your heart from constantly remembering the hurt, loss, and pain and enables you to help someone else dealing with similar issues. Closure without forgiveness does not necessarily remove the pain. 3- Secularly and physically we forgive because it helps in lowering the risk of heart attack; improving cholesterol levels and sleep; and reducing pain, blood pressure, and levels of anxiety, depression and stress. I pray you are able to forgive, not forget, but forgive. I like your last outfit and the short black and white. You will be lovely in whatever.

Yes, forgiveness is hard…but,it sets you free too. I think that’s why we are asked to forgive… so we can be free. That feeling of letting go of hate feels so much lighter.

I was born to a teenage mom and no father. I've struggled for years with low confidence but your quote today helps me to know I must find closure with my upbringing. I thank the good Lord I was raised my grandmother and other special women who poured love into me. I found a wonderful husband and we've raised two beautiful daughters,so life did turn out well ❤! A few weeks after the murder trial of my daughter I asked the Lord to help me forgive the person responsible and I truly believe the Lord just led me to pray for that person and the child of that person . I’m not sure I have forgiven I only pray for their salvation

Thank you for sharing your personal story. I struggled with father abandonment issues for decades. After four years of therapy, I forgave myself and stopped blaming myself for decisions my parents made. I realized I was angry at myself for not living and loving myself regardless of circumstances out of my control. I started loving myself and transformed my life. I am grateful that I no longer carry bitterness and anger. I wish you peace and happiness. Love your channel!

Option two is super cute! Forgiveness is a journey. We are commanded to forgive, however, that does not mean we let that person back into our lives, or they are free from the consequences. Forgiveness is freeing ourselves from the bitterness and anger that can eat us inside. God bless you.

So sorry you had to go through that sis. You are not alone...I grew up without my dad as well. I know what helped me was to see how much my mom forgave my dad. She was an instant forgiver and that was the example she set for me. So because she forgave him I could forgive him as well...and he walked me down the aisle for me wedding! That you prayed and asked God to take the hatred from you is a true testament of your faith! I find that forgiveness has more to do with me than the person I am forgiving...forgiveness frees my soul and heals me and God takes care of the other person. God's got you sis!❤

Angela, I like that you addressed the pressure from other people saying that we must forgive someone. I struggle with forgiving a particular person in my life but , l like you, I'm a Christian trying to live my faith. I pray for the person who hurt me and now I don't worry about my still feeling hurt or angry. Maybe still feeling hurt and angry doesn't mean that I don't forgive. I can still be angry about how I was treated while forgiving the person.

Hi Angela, my heart goes out to you and the heartbreak you feel in regards to your father. Forgiveness is oftentimes not for the other person but for ourselves. It frees us from being in bondage to what they did to us. The best decision you can make is to forgive yourself and forgive your father for your own peace and wellness. It is often a process, however the more you speak out loud Lord I forgive my father or Lord help me to forgive my father he will definitely do that. God loves you and he knows every heartbreak, every tear and all the hurt that is in your heart and he is willing and ready to heal it. But you first have to acknowledge it, as you have and let it go because it will eat you up inside. Love ya!

I'm so glad you found closure with your situation. I too struggled with a situation with my ex husband and my Pastor said to me forgiveness doesn't mean reconciliation. That helped free me of the anger. It's definitely a faith journey.

Hi Angela... I understand what you're feeling regarding forgiveness...it is hard to do at times....I also had "daddy" issues even though he WAS present...Great provider but emotionally deficient...I struggled for many years because of the behaviors I manifested because he was not affirming of me as a young girl...without further detail I will say that as hard as it was for me, through much prayer and the seeking to obey God's word...I had to forgive him...that's what set me free. When I voiced my struggle, the Lord was quick to remind me that there is NOTHING beyond His forgiveness [except blaspheming the Holy Spirit]...on the Cross Jesus asked the Father to forgive His crucifiers because "they know not what they do." I would certainly not pressure anyone to forgive, but just say that difficulty of situations is not a criteria for determining forgiveness...who are we to pick and chose what or what not to forgive...what if Jesus decided not to forgive us and not suffer for us? What debt would we owe if He had not forgiven. Think of ALL the wicked things for which we ask forgiveness...there is no sin that His grace does not cover. Obviously, it is difficult to forgive certain atrocities in our humanity, that's why we have to trust and allow the power of God's Spirit to forgive and love through us. I believe forgiveness is closure. That said, as a Christian, that quote does not align with God's word and the spirit of His agape love. I trust you receive my words in the spirit of love....I so enjoy you and your videos each week and the positive messages and beautiful attire and looks you share...stay fabulous! Good evening Angela. I also grew up without my father being a responsible parent. Forgiveness doesn’t mean the action is right. However I needed the freedom from the burden of the offense. Forgiveness gave me that. He owes me nothing. God our father more than made up for his lack.

My dear, you find closure when you find it in you to forgive. The silly phrase I don’t like is when people say forget and forgive. There are things that are so egregious that forgetting is an impossibility. But not forgiving is taking away from yourself. You leave the pain at the cross, at God’s throne. We need forgiveness every day. If you can’t give it, you are equally undeserving of it. Don’t give your peace over to anyone. Be blessed.🙏🏽💚

Outfit #2! So cute and classy, with some spunk! In regards to your father situation, I went through something similar. They were divorced when I was three, and barely tried to spend time with us when sis and I were very young. Then he completely stopped communication other than to call mom and complain about the support he was supposed to give (single mother - only a teacher's income). At some point he told his next child - with the woman he cheated on my mother with - that he didn't have sisters, and that it was only a dream. He even told me sister to not call because his new girlfriend didn't know he had daughters. What a charming man with integrity. So I used the word HATE for him - and no one else. I couldn't forgive - but I could move on and not allow that hate to become acid in my soul and psyche. It took me a long time - until my forties - to move on. I still harbor ill feelings - but they no longer eat me up. I"m 57 now - and I know that I am a much, much better parent than he ever wanted to be - or had a capacity to be. Continue to work out those feelings!

I think you get closure in forgiveness… You are allowed to feel what you feel but if you harbor the negative feelings you are still trapped inside….but in forgiveness you release and become whole. It’s not about forgetting it’s about realizing that the person did wrong and it’s up to them to figure their crap out… You are free!! I love the African outfit.

Just watched your video regarding skincare and forgiveness. My take: you don’t or should not do ANYTHING you don’t want to do however, in becoming whole you do not want to carry any dead weight that encumbers your peace. Forgiveness will free you from the burden of carrying that weight around. Trust me, I have experienced serious offenses and pain against me (not from a father) but I found more peace in forgiveness and letting go of it. But I also know that os a PROCESS! Love your channel! ❤

I love the jumpsuit! A white bag would look nice with it as well. They are all beautiful! Regarding the forgiveness versus closure, I feel you need to deal with it in your own way. Your feelings are your feelings and my belief is you have to grieve the situation the way you need to. Often times people give their advice in a kind and loving way, but they don’t know or understand what a person has really experienced. I have a situation that has taken a lot of time to grieve and process. I am not at the forgiveness phase yet, but I do pray for them. I work and pray for peace in my heart and happiness and health for my family! I will not allow their issues to weigh me down or cause me unhappiness. My hope for you Angela is to have peace in your heart and not carry the burden of someone else’s actions. Only you can decide how you achieve that for yourself. Don’t allow anyone to tell you how to feel or what you need to do. That is your choice. You are a beautiful person! Blessings to you and your family!! 😊

My ex husband moved and only sees the children about 8 days out of the year. He was the reason that we divorced. Our son is special needs and I felt like I needed my ex husband's help. I was so bitter. I cussed him out all the time. I was so hurt bc I felt he should have been here to help. I had to pray and pray. Suddenly it happened that I just thought, "Maybe he did the best be could" From then on, things have been better. I forgave him for me and my kids. Bigger than that, I forgave because the Lord told me to. I forgave him first. The Lord then gave me closure. As to say, "I need to forgive him. The Lord then allowed me to accept and move past certain things. Thanks for this video. You look amazing!😊

Hi Angela! First, you and your hubby are the cutest. Second, regarding forgiveness- for me, forgiveness is something to give when someone made a mistake or truly meant no harm. I've learned to accept people for who they are. Also , some thing's are unforgivable, so I just move on. Life is too short to hold on to people with "ugly" dispositions. That includes family members. I’m similar to you in forgiveness - I find that I am not able to forgive easily, but I do find that if and when I find closure I’m better with moving on. I pray regularly to release things so that I can move on and be happy - but I do pray that the person does become convicted to not repeat it and do it to someone else. I still also struggle to know if they way I handle this is right in the sight of God. I know that in Him that there is no condemnation so I rest in that.

I’m not angry with him anymore. I’m not 100% sure about the forgiveness. I understand that he doesn’t have it in him to be a father. It’s truly sad. But I’ve also prayed and because of God, I’m no longer in pain about that relationship and accept it for what it is. Oh, the last outfit is gorgeous.

I think forgiveness is a personal journey. No can tell another when or even if they should forgive. The most we can do is pray that the injured person will get to a place where the hurt is gone.

Angela thanks for sharing your routine; my skincare routine started at an early age of 11. Some tips I’ve found helpful include I don’t rub my skincare products into my palms. I either apply drops directly to my face or put it on my fingertips to massage product into my face and neck. I have my toner in a spray bottle to avoid spills and overuse. Good Skincare products are way too expensive to waste. ❤

Hi Angela, my Pastor just talked about the topic of forgiveness. What we are taught is not for the other person. Its actually for the person. It only takes one. To free up I'll feelings. It doesn't mean reconciliation because that requires both parties will to resolve the matter.

Hi Angela, thanks for sharing what's on your heart. My father lived with me and was physically abusive towards my mother and made our home a very hostile enviroment. Children should not have to gang up on their father to protect themselves from him. The person in the whole world who should be protecting us from everything. I did worry if I did not forgive him before he died how would I deal with that. He has been gone for 6 years and I can honestly say I am at peace with myself. The human condition is very real.

Hey Ms Angela, I can definitely identify with what you were saying about forgiveness. My situation was similar to yours when I was growing up. My father left us when I was (7) years old. He left my Mom with (6) kids to care for. He never paid any child support. My Mom worked & struggled to care for us. Despite it all, I can truly say that we were never homeless, nor did we ever go hungry. I was young and didn’t quite understand, but because I had a praying mother, this I believe is how we made it through & my three older brothers worked to help her take care of us younger kids. Yet he had the audacity to take on another wife & 2 more kids without ever divorcing my Mom. My dear Mom died at the age of 46 and he had the nerve to show up at the funeral trying to tell me where I should lay her to rest. I told him to get out of my face, because you walked away leaving 6 children. However I never had a relationship with him, but like you I too am a Christian & eventually forgave him before he passed.
