I honestly really like this CDLC. It's some fun and detailed missions combined with unique and cool assets, and the fire fighting is just a little cherry on top. The assets are high quality and well config'd, they fill gameplay niches previously unaddressed in vanilla ArmA 3 and all have a good amount of variety in loadouts or customisation.

I wish the wildland firefighting actually had stuff wildland fire fighters use. It has the most basic things, which is cool to see representation, but when I saw it I expected more detail than dumping water on a fire with a heli bucket. I wanted to simulate fire lines, retardant drops, fire physics with unpredictable characteristics. But I guess that is a bit much to expect from a military simulation game.

@RimmyDownunder yeah I was really excited when I first daw wildland fire fighting on the trailer because I was a dispatcher for DNR aka wildland firefighting. I know all sorts of stuff about it and was hoping maybe I could use some of those skills. Oh well.

The sniper at 2:40. I imagine the side mag is easier to reload if you are laying down and firing at range. You don't need to pick the sniper up to take the mag out. You just pull it out.

2:40 Because a 5.56/.223 can engage a target out to 800+ yards when using good bullets, proper twist rate, and the correct barrel length. A side charger is an odd choice, but it has some merit. A 30 round magazine prone, even with a bipod, can be kind of clunky. It's why you see so many 10 round magazines in PRS matches. By throwing it on the side you make it awkward to move with, but superior when shooting prone, and it's much, much easier to reload.

I gotta say, the DLC is incredible, so much fun content, the drones, new helis (Arma 3 really lacked the variety), new pickups, weapons and all the other cool stuff, definitely worth the price (it's really fucking cheap, no reason not to buy it)

That side-loaded bolt-action in 5.56 is a real thing made by Hera Arms (known almost exclusively for the CQR stock/foregrip, which even if you didn't know the name before now, I guarantee you've seen it in games before). I don't know why it exists but it does. Maybe filling some weird niche for the civilian market in Germany. I kind of want one because it's so weird and utterly pointless.

The whole air control idea reminds me a lot of Heliborne, but in ArmA. That's an interesting idea. I've always wondered what Heliborne would be like if half your team played as the infantry.

Usually the guns is done by the co pilot and swivels so you don't have the bouncy fire line when you try to shoot someone

2:43 that actually would be kinda neat to have? 5.56 has a surprising amount of applications in a bolt action (see CZ Trail). and if you've ever shot an AR prone with a 30 rnd mag you'd know you're basically using the mag as a monopod whether you'd like to or not. turning the magwell 90 degrees means mag size is a lot more versatile without it getting in the way. with that said, Im not actually sure if its more practical than just using 20 round mags, but I still think its neat.

5.55 doesn't have great range though for a dedicated sniper. If I only have two soldiers to spare for a sniper team I want them further than 5.56's practical long range of 400 yards. While it can go further your accuracy really drops from there.

Loved the video @RimmyDownunder! Can't wait for the next video man! I wonder if the CDLC can you Assets from other Mods like the Word War Two or even SOG: Prairie Fire? Imagine playing RDF with either a Humvee or an M113A3 APC with the ACAV kit? Another idea is to play Cashpoint almost like it's the Weapons DLC in Stormworks: Build and Rescue. You go around the Map and Establish some Hideouts where you can Plan your ATM and Bank Robberies and then buy better weapons and Equipment to Keep the Cops off of you and even Recruit more people into your gang! Imagine using AKM and AK-74 Assault Rifles and RPG-24's against the Cops, or at least M1 Garands, M1 and M2 Carbines, M1928A1 Thompson Submachine guns and M1918A1 BAR's (Browning Automatic Rifles)! Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!

AI cant see small drones mod really helps when using the RC-40 HE, they can still shoot it done however they engage at really close altitudes and most of the time fail to shoot it using small arms.

Rimmy complains about drones getting shot down My team ended up using them as a distraction to keep SPAA guns occupied so we could plant explosives because they weren't able to hit. Mind you our difficulty is pretty high, both tactics and accuracy.

5:51 i think it might be due to how jank arma 3's armor system actually is I think in basegame you can take like 1 bullet + armor level in most rifle cases but pistols arent far behind depending on how the pistol and rifle are configured as well as enemy armor/health....
