Tied up in knots with stringy 3D prints? We can solve that! In this video I'll use Creality Print to reduce stringing on an Ender 3 V3 SE as I continue to build a new material profile. You'll want to make sure your temperature and flow rate have already been determined. Both go along way to help eliminate stringing as well. Links for those videos are below. ‪@Creality3D‬ ‪@OFFICIALCREALITY3D‬

Thanks a lot for all your videos. I had great prints previously, I have a K1 max, with one brand of filament, and when I switched to a new brand I ran into so many problems. Watching your videos really helped me to understand my printer better and getting it optimized for my new brand of filament. Keep it up! Will you be making a video on cooling settings?

Love these videos, new to 3D printing and so far I really like creality print. Do you think you could go over how to increase the speed of your prints? 😁

so I've dialed in the temp pretty well at 210C and followed the flow rate video to get a flow rate of 87% which does seem a bit low but based on the process that is what I got. Now I am just struggling to see any improvement in stringing as I slowly increase my retraction distance from 0 up to 3mm without very much change at all. I feel like that is getting kind of high. Is it possibly realistic to go higher than that? What course of action would you recommend from here?

87% on the flow seems really low! But if that's what the results show I would stick with it. For the retraction I would keep going until you find the happy spot. What filament type? PLA?

I keep having heat creep with my K1. Its new, ive only had it about 3 weeks. When i try to print anything larger or takes longer than am hour, the filament swells and causes a clog and I have to take it all apart to get the filament out. Its really a pain to take the hotend apart. Is this the nest way to prevent the heat creep?

I haven't experience that. What filament brand & type are you printing with and what temperature are printing at? I'm very curious.

So I started at 0.0 and then went to .5 .6 .7 .8 even 1.0 1.2 1.5 no matter what I did it kept stringing. What am I doing wrong and what else can I do?

I would check my temperature and flow rates. Then I would retry the reaction tests. Another thing to keep in mind is that damp filament will also result in stringy prints. It doesn't have to feel wet to be wet! A good test for damp PLA is to try to break a piece off of the spool. If it snaps right off, you have damp filament. If it bends a lot, then your filament is fine. Good luck and let me know if this help!!!! Thanks for watching!

@pushingplastic7445 so you think I should do the temp and flow test again and dial those in one more time and then try the string test again? If my filament is damp, how do I fix that problem?
@pushingplastic7445
@pushingplastic7445 2 ай бұрын
@@michaelshanley3939 I would check the filament for dampness first. For my filament, I use an old food dehydrator to dry it. Very cheap, like $35 new on Amazon and a lot of time found at a goodwill or thrift store for about $5. A lot of people have them laying around their house and forgot they even had it! I use the round one and cut the center out of the trays with the snips that come with a printer. I'll put about 3 spools of filament in there for 4-6 hours at 45C and it's good to go. You don't have to buy one of those dry boxes that a lot of 3d Printer companies are selling. There are a lot of videos on KZfaq for drying filament that might give you other options. But checking the filament for dampness would be my starting point. Good luck!

@pushingplastic7445 thanks so much for the info. I just checked my filament and it's bending very nicely. Looks like I'm gonna do the temp tests and flow tests again and hope to dial it in a little more. Thanks

A closeup? I guess I should've shown a closeup of it. In hindsight it may have been a good idea to do that. It had no stringing or defects. If it did, I would've gone up to 0.7mm and so on until it had no stringing or defects.
