so after doing several of my machines ive come into an issue. intial layer accuracy is a fucking ruinimg my there a modell youve made that wont include the intial layer for the dimiensional accruacy?. i need a way to measure model accuracy that doesnt include initial layer accracy.

Just set you initial layer height to be equal to all of the other layers. For example, if your layer is 0.2, set the initial layer height to 0.2.

Hey I’m not sure if you can help me with this question but my filament in the middle of printing just stopped extruding and I can’t get the filament out cause when I tried to remove the filament it snapped inside the printer. What should I do?

Currently I'm using Creality Print 5, at the time this video was made I was Creality Print 4.3.8. Is it possible that you are running Creality Slicer and not Creality Print? They are two different slicers. They look very much alike on the surface, but that's about it?

@DigitalInventor did a review of Creality Print 5 11 days ago (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/raqdbNmiscuZYpc.html) and he deemed it unfit for use by end users. I tend to agree with him.

Sorry, I looked at that video and haven't seen anything about dialing in the flow rate. But I did see somebody voice their opinion for nearly 28 minutes about a slicer he doesn't like. I don't believe in bashing other content creators and I'm not going to give a review of his video. If you don't like the slicer, simply don't use it. There are plenty of other slicers out there to choose from. But the majority of the people viewing this video are doing so because they want to learn more about it. Thanks for the comment.

I really liked your guide to get a nice top surface. Please could you consider how to get the same quality if that surface has (designed) holes in it? Maybe print your test tile with five holes dotted at random and see if prints smoothly now 🤫? I get artifacts after the holes because the hotend chooses to move all over the place now. Ive tried with some of the newer settings in CP (and Orca) but I cant get rid......

If you're seeing pillowing, then you aren't using enough top layers. How many are you using?

Thank you for this video! I have Creality Print 5 on my Windows system and want to start using it more than the older Creality Print. Videos like this really help me learn how to use it. Question, if you know - Creality Print 5 is only available on Windows. Do you know when Creality will come out with version 5 for the Mac? I also use a Macbook - which has CP 4.3.

On the Tower test I usually measure the seam as pressure advance will affect seam. There is always a clear spot along the seam where it looks nice.

I avoid measuring along the seam since it is the starting point for layers moving upward. Pressure advance is more or less finding the sweet spot between over and under extrusion. But if it's working for you, great!!! Thanks for watching!

Hey with creality print 5.0 i can't make gcode-file. I can export my project to an stl-file but that's it. I know there is a dropdown where you normally should be able to select another file type but there is none... Anyone any idea?

After you click "Slice Plate", right below that button there is the "LAN Printing" button. You can use that to send your gcode to the printer if you are using a printer that is WiFi enabled. If not, click the Up arrow on the right side of that same button and use the "Export to local" option. This will export your Gcode. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching.

I have learnt so much about Creality Print just from following along with Bill's videos. Instantly subbed just because of how easy he makes his videos to follow. I keep calling him CNC Kitchens long lost father because of how in-depth Bill goes! One thing I seem to be having trouble with is tolerances with parts fitting together so any tips for that would be much appreciated!

Are you doing your own designs and don't know how much tolerance to build into your designs or is the problem with other people's designs not fitting together properly? In my designs I usually go with 0.5 max tolerance for parts fitting together, sometimes I'll tighten then up, but that's my general design tolerance.

I would check to make sure your filament is dry, your nozzle isn't partially clogged and you are using the right temperature for the material you are printing with.

@pushingplastic7445 machine is brand new, filament is brand new, in a filament dry box using pla at 225° as thats what it likes best. I changed the flow rate from 0.95 to 1.05 and it seems to have helped abit. Just wild being a $1,200 printer brand new and its that badily out. And I'm even using thier filament.

@@FluffyDiceCubes I haven't tried many of their filaments. I've had good luck with the Hyper PLA. I'm trying their ASA right now. I'm still not sure if it's me or the filament. I have some Polymaker ASA arriving tomorrow so I can compare. Have you tried other brands of filament?

@@FluffyDiceCubes Understood. But keep in mind that the "Hyper" series filament from Creality is designed to work great with the K1 machines, but will not do real well on the Ender machines. To print fast, you have to print at a higher temperature so the filament will flow faster and that's how they tailored the Hyper series. A lot of my prints are with Generic PLA, just over $10/spool. I do a temperature tower first to find what temperature looks the best. Then I dial in the flow rate.

i did start 0 to 1, and 1 to 2, with 0.002 sequence and i dont find any difference, is very ugly the line, im using V3 SE, is pressure advance maybe disabled on marlin?

Marlin firmware uses Linear Advance, not Pressure Advance.

For everyone looking for the marketplace add on it has been removed due to an alleged bug. Its a PITA but you can use the block support feature to place down where you don't want supports its very tedious process but it works for me.

It is based on Orca to some degree. However, Orca Slicer, Bambu Studio and Super Slicer (to name a few) are all based on (or forks of) Prusa Slicer.

@@pushingplastic7445 Creality Print 5 does not allow you to select the best tag from Pass 1, like it does in Creality Print 4. So I would say it is a bug.

@@pushingplastic7445 When you got to the point of doing Pass 2 of the flow rate calibration test (beginning at 7:05) you paused (at 7:46) and seemed to be surprised that the ten blocks produced were "...incrementing by negative one", i.e. the flow rate was being decremented by one. So ten blocks (or tags) were produced with relative flow rates of 0, -1, -2, -3, -4 , -5 ,-6, -7, -8, and -9, with respect to the flow rate that was set in the profile after Pass 1. That was surprising to me as well, because now we don't get an opportunity to judge the print quality when flow rates are incremented by one w.r.t. the flow rate that was set in the profile after Pass 1.

@@howardbealeau There was no surprise, I knew exactly what to expect. I've done this quite a few times while dialing in other brands of PLA, PETG and some ASA. In addition I participated on the Beta test team. I'm not sure what your end game is, my guess is to drive viewers to another video? Either way, like I said previously, if you don't like the slicer, don't use it. There are plenty of other choices.

If you open up a filament, for example, Generic PLA, turn on the Advanced Setting, like the way I updated the Flow Ratio in this video, you'll find a setting for Price. It's 4 boxes below the flow ration. Enter the amount you pay for filament. For Generic PLA, it's preset to 20, put the dollar amount that paid per spool and you'll be set. Going into business?

Creality must use a different method for determining the optimal flow rate for specific materials, because the pre-set values are set to 3 significant figures, e.g. the pre-set flow rate for Generic ABS is 0.926. Also, when it worked in Creality Print Ver. 4.3, using the Pass 1, Pass 2 method to determine the flow rate adjustment value, based on an examination of the nine rectangular test tabs, is not as straight forward as it sounds, because printing the nine test tabs with a Standard 0,2 mm layer thickness gives a completely different result compared to printing with an Optimal 0.16 mm layer thickness. Having to determine the optimal flow rate for every print profile available for every material seems to be a monumental task.

I do, almost always. It's an insurance policy to avoid a failed print in my opinion. It's a tool that I choose to use. Some people like to brag about not using it, but there is no prize for a failed print.

@@GamingPanda5748 I should've mentioned that I use that for PLA, TPU and PETG. In the more exotic filaments like ASA, I use a brand called Magigoo. They have different blends for different materials.

This was a game changer. Tfs❤. I bought a used machine but it printed sooo poorly, everything was full of holes, it looked like a birds nest. Mine extruded 39mm😮 on the test the machine was at 93😮after calculating I had to push it up to 238.5😊. I was worried because of the huge diff, but I did a retraction test again and it pushed out 100mm exactly😊. Now I off to your Retraction tower, walls and the rest of your tutorials❤. I am brand new to 3d printing, much appreciated

I have had this since shortly getting my M1 Max and love it mainly for just filament management. Meaning I do not have to go behind the machine to refill. But YES its has been a bonus as it has helped with OLDer PLA :) Love it .

@@pushingplastic7445 Yea its on the right side of my machine and OOOOH so nice. The Bowden tube that comes with it goes all the way to the run out sensor .. So it comes with the necessary tube.. Good fix

Do you know of a way in Creality Print (V4 or V5 also is there a version of 5 coming to the Mac) ) to do sequential printing ? I have a project I want to print multiples, but I want to get the benefits of automation without the bed release . So I have a part I need to make a lot of and I am ok with getting 3 of this part printed at 12 hours a shot. (it take 4 hours to print each and I can fit 3 possibly 4(if Im lucky and the head does not hit it) and would like to be able to do sequential but I know its in Prusia slicer and Orca and Cura but I was hoping it was in Creality print. One at a time kinda a pain but 3 or 4 at a time but separate would be a bonus. Thanks..

I tried to download and run 5, 3 times. Installed, uninstalled, and every time I open it, my cursor is off from the icons I want to click on. Like over 1/4" off. Only program i have the issue with. So uninstalled it again and gave up.

Not sure if this will help but I had such an issue once with some program, I don't remember which. I was running my screen scaleing at 125% (right-click on desktop and scroll down to Scale in Scale & Layout) Setting it back to 100% solved it for me (and a new pair of glasses 🙂

If you still have it loaded, try running it in Administrator mode and see if that helps.
