Luka is one of the most dangerous scorers ever to play. But he also the worst defensive player out of every superstar before him. Luka actually plays good defense from time to time. He just needs to be a lot more consistent and minimize the dumb plays. At this level, it just takes a few dumb plays at the worst possible moment and you are out of it. Just ask Halliburton. Just ask LeBron James against the Mavs. The honest truth is Luka has been the best on the court for both teams in this series. But the Boston TEAM is just better. They just keep coming at you. All five of them on the court. For the Mavs, all of the shots the supporting cast are normally making, they have disappeared. Maybe that is due to the Boston defense or it could be the pressure of the moment. Thus far, my only criticism with Luka is he has not come through at the end of the game in this series. Kyrie has also not been his normal best in this series. After the first round of the playoffs I thought the east was way weaker than the west. I thought the Mavs, Minnesota, Denver, and OKC would sweep the Celtics if either faced them. They were winning, but they seemed to struggle. They didn't have a dominating player on their team. They should have lost 3 games to Indiana. But somehow, they just keep winning. As a team. Everybody they put on the floor contributes as if they believe they are supposed to win.

Luka is obviously hurt. No lateral movement. He's already a below average defender, but on one leg it's easy to pick on him. Any hooper knows how much a knee injury like tendonitis affects your defensive ability. At least he's playing!
