​@@juulianhilser2563 they play in english cup competitions like the FA Cup, the FA Trophy (a cup for lower tier teams) and next year in the league cup. so that's already a lot of games and these competitions are more important (and bring more money), soit isn't really a punishment. other welsh teams would barely have a chance of ever winning the welsh cup if the top 4 teams play there as well.

more than that, they are poised to be the hipster/happy football club option for curious americans. The american market is immense (especially by welsh standards/bottom EFL standards) and they'd have a distinctly different market proposition from the usual superbig brands in football. It almost feels like, you can root for a champions league caliber team (where victory or defeat are the only thing) and you can also root for the smaller team where football is joy, and those are your lads. In that sense, there are just a handful of names that can market this proposition better than Ryan Reynolds to a huge audience

The guy is an investor... football in the UK offers an opportunity to build a small club up to something global... with a fraction of the investment... simply because of how the leagues are structured. In North America... if your endgame is to own a professional sports team... your only option is to fork over the gajillion dollars. I don't think Reynolds will be in the owners box at age 80... but who is to say that he can't profit... along with the club and the town simultaneously... which seems to be the case presently. it's a bit early to say what happens, but the investments are not comparable. nobody would ever expect an investor to be emotionally invested in a company like mint mobile. whether they sell it or not remains to be seen and even if, that doesn't mean it has to be a bad thing, depends on who they sell it to. if they find someone who has longterm plans for the team, what's the problem? if you expect to see owners who treat it like a charity, you are delusional, that doesn't work in modern football
