Jaby, I appreciate your honest reaction. It’s a sign of strong writing that doesn’t have to make you happy and feel good - it’s supposed to make you feel conflicted and pull back in disgust at times. I would be much more concerned if you were bored or indifferent about the material

Trust me I also thought after watching ep9 that what else could happen that would add to the story but the finale is just EVERYTHING! Without it the show would be an entirely different thing imo..it's that important. The finale actually managed to endear both Amy and Danny to me somehow, it's what you get when writers are allowed full creative freedom and not bound by tropes.

I read the writer originally killed off more people in this episode (Most likely Isaac, Bobby and Naomi) but Netflix advised not to.

I find it hilarious that every complaint Jaby makes about this show are the exact problems I have with Succession. Meanwhile this is like my favorite show ever and I love all the characters despite their flaws

I blame everything on Danny this episode! If Danny had just accepted his consequences and not try to frame Amy June wouldn't have gotten in his car. Amy was trying to protect her daughter and wasn't thinking straight. I would have been mad if this was last episode, I need resolution, even if it's not good - I need resolution!

Teh last episodes is one of the best episodes in a tv show ever. The profoundness + comedy. It’s so frikkin good. And the well deserved conclusive ending for the viewers

I guess it can be exhausting to watch a drama where all the characters are assholes, even if the writing, acting, and directing are absolutely stellar. At least with Game of Thrones, regardless of its flaws, had a mix of flawed characters that were either awful, had a good sense of character, or made questionable decisions but were able to be redeemed. With Succession and Beef, all of the characters, except for the children, are just different shades of awful. They are all self-hating, insecure, selfish jerks who are okay with throwing people under the bus in order to save themselves. So you’re just left with watching characters go down a road of selfishness, manipulation and self-destruction. Personally speaking, I’ve seen firsthand someone who went down a self-destructive path. It’s not fun and it’s not “aesthetically interesting” to witness. The entire experience is miserable. I do like how human the characters feel, there’s definitely an authenticity to the plot and the characters. I commend the writers for not holding back on how awful these characters can be.

I also typically don’t like show that have characters without a moral compass but this one I actually do like. They didn’t feel completely evil to me like in breaking bad
