Come on guys, not every show requires moral values and righteous protagonists. Also Isaac is responsible for losing the motel and sending Danny's parents back to home country.

I think they're missing the point that Amy is addicted to the thrill. She is so bored and unfulfilled in her own life - the drama with Danny is giving he LIFE. And same goes for Danny.

I think you're missing a couple of things. Isaac was the reason Danny's family lost their motel, so while he's been looking out for Danny here and there, he only does it for his own interest, and while others remain his subordinate. Also, it makes total sense for Amy's character to bargain down Danny and pull back on the deal based on what we know about her relationship with money, she's not thinking like a person with old money, she's a person with new money, who wants to build generational wealth and values it much more than your regular rich people who use money to manipulate.

I really don't need a person to root for in a story as long as the main character(s) are interesting and I want to follow them until the story eventually ends.

Isaac never looked out for his family. He was always just looking for grunts. He never made anyone his equal. They were always workers to merely be polite to while also being superior to. The show never hides that they are all fucked. Asking who is more morally correct is entirely subjective. At the end of the day no one here is a good person, yet also they all have some good in them. Which aspects you see at what points is irrelevant to the people they factually are.

“Whoa whoa that’s some diabolical mastermind shit. I can’t even think that far.” Even though Danny was such a piece of shit for selling out his cousin, Steven Yuen’s line delivery and him pretending to be offended from the accusation always makes me laugh. Dark comedy indeed.

the whole point of the show is that none of the characters are "the good guy"; they're all deeply flawed because that's human.

I love this show. I ran through it this past month because y'all reacted to it. Steven Yeun being in it helped me commit to finishing the show. Liked him since TWD. Also I had to see just how far the feud would go.

Inattentive moreso I feel like and maybe not the best at reading people. From moment one there was no doubt in my mind (or anyones mind that I know of) that Isaac was trouble and a leech. I also feel like there might be a very simplistic view of what a successful/entertaining show has to look like. This show lives in the greys. Nobody is a good person per se (with maybe the exception of Paul who's still also pretty flawed) but everyone COULD be better. Everyone has potential and it is ultimately about the decisions people make and which way they turn. This makes it so interesting and human to me and yes, it's heightened but truly not that much. We almost all have that raging voice in us sometimes...we're looking for excitement, a purpose, being seen by others, true companionship, emotional release etc.. The writing is great because it makes you care about deeply flawed people and that's life or at least what it should be...

I think it's okay to WANT to have a least one morally good character in a show or a film you are watching. It's a matter of preference. For example, Jaby likes the story in Mortal Kombat but is not really into the violence in the games. That doesn't mean the games are bad as a whole, it just means it's possible to enjoy some aspects of a piece of art that resonate with you while also having criticisms of that same piece of art that don't connect with you based off of your own personal preferences. He said countless times in the past that he enjoys rooting for a character who's following a north star, who has good intentions and strives to do good things even if they are flawed (not verbatim of course). When watching a show or film, it's a nice feeling when you are reminded that there are people in real life that try to put out more good in the world, regardless of how bleak the world can be. However, I personally don't think it's necessary to have a morally good character in a show in order to enjoy a show or film. Especially when there's excellent execution in the writing and storytelling in the show/film you're watching. Humans can be morally flawed. There is no "good person vs. bad person" most of the time in real life. I think showing characters like the ones in Beef or Succession helps remind us that any human can be stuck in their own perspective, which could lead to messy decisions and messy outcomes. Even those who claim they are open-minded or try to be the devil's advocate or try to see both sides or try to do good, still fall within their own perspective of how they view and interact with the world. Your perspective can influence how you criticize or judge or treat yourself and others. Jaby, Achara, all of us leaving comments, and people in general. We all have our own perspectives, and those perspectives can influence how we view and experience anything, including how we consume and review art. Watching a show or film where there isn't a clear morally good character who follows their north star does not personally irk me. But sometimes it does for some people, and that happens. It's easy to want reactors to have similar perspectives to you when you and the reactors are watching the same thing. But you are bound to witness reactors have a different experience or perspective towards the same thing you're experiencing.

I think Amy differently than Jaby & others.. she's not our good character, no one is.. but jaby wants her to mature when Danny is the one who KEEPS doing 1 step worse. He just CAN'T let it go.. he's the one who needs to learn. It doesn't go well for him when he picks a fight w her. And also, It's definitely natural for Danny to throw Issac under the bus, they did build it up.. his cousin slapped him & kept sending orders, Danny hates that energy,the power over him..makes danny feel like his own younger brother. exactly why he kept his little brother by his side, he likes the dominance. you'll find out later he did pretty messed things just to keep his brother with him. I get it, it's easy to feel sympathetic towards Danny but don't let it overtake your judgement of his character. His situation doesn't excuse his actions.

It's hard to do, but maybe the show supports the idea that we root for all of the people. Perhaps the show challenges the audience to own our values and question how readily we say "live and let live" when others can impact our worldview or tangible assets.

I love these reactions (: and Isaac was one of the few people I really had no sympathy for, for reasons other people have listed, but yeah, I wasn’t a big fan of him. Very much of the mindset of “I’m gonna do something nice for you cause we’re family, but then I’m gonna expect a LOT from you”. He also is always scheming, and they never seem too well planned, and they definitely aren’t fully legal. He just is bad news

thats my experience with power. no good guys except for the kids that they barely show and have NO storylines. what kept me coming back was the plotting, dialogue, actors and HOT boyz

Jaby's opinions are so.... ugh. Thank God at least Achara gets the characters and enjoys the show for what it is. Jaby is overthinking too much and is desperately trying to find a good guy or some moral high-ground in a show full of grey characters who are doing questionable things. Achara's reaction makes this bearable.

Danny didn't sell out Isaac until he had no other options, it was Isaac or him. The same situation that Issac was presented when asked about who drove the truck, so even though you said you get that, you're still claiming Isaac wouldn't have done that to Danny. Isaac is a total POS, he was selling fake baby formula, I wonder how many got sick or died to have the motel shut down. How much lower does he have to go to be removed from your characters that have a moral compass list. Because Danny is such a horrible person, it makes Isaac not seem so bad, but look at it from the perspective of Paul. He's not looking out for his family at all, he's using them. He's a pimp slapping around his hoes, then showing a little kindness every now and then. He doesn't seem all that broken up about Uncle and Auntie suffering in a Korean slum. Look at Paul's distain when he finds out Danny is working with him, that's the exact attitude Danny should have but is too desperate to cut him out. Everyone is a POS in this show to some degree, that's the beauty of it. At least you guys aren't putting Paul on a pedestal like most of the other reactors. I'll never forget the one where they called Paul a crypto genius, only held back because of Danny....lmfao. Just 10x to a million everyone, brilliant.
