A while back, I bought a Squier baritone Telecaster. Then, a few weeks ago, I built a baritone Telecaster. So, which is better, the Squier Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Telecaster, or the one I built in my garage?

I just love the P90-ish pickups in the Paranormal. Enough to make me overlook the odd styling and paint colours. In the end, I took mine in black.

my squier baritone rattles too, and the toggle likes to pop back into the middle all of the time... such fun quirks! i'm too lazy to figure anything out about resolving this stuff, since i don't play it enough. i don't wanna sell it though, because i'd have to deal with people, and who wants to really do that?

Very unique pickup combo on the partscaster, but then again that's what makes them so fun. Worth it for the bridge pickup alone. The Squier sounded nice too but I see those pickups go on sale used pretty regularly.

Totally agree! I think I'd've been happy with a Esquire Bari with JUST the bridge. I might swap the Lollar Royal T for the middle pickup in the SD Lari Basilio set.

The thing i wondered about partscaster baritones is whether the pickup placement is perhaps too close to the neck? The body is usually routed for a standard scale length, but i guess there won't be much difference to a 27".

I finally bit the bullet and got my first baritone and went for a Squier tele. It ain't have bad actually! The tuners are garbage, I may swap them for locking ones a little down the line, but for a first bari I'm quite pleased!

My baritone partscaster has all Fender branded parts but I don't see getting rid of it any time soon. I hope to make the next premier. 😿

Apples are a great thing to compare to oranges. I don't know why people act like it's hard to compare two fruits. Comparing apples to a bonfire, that would be tough.

I think the pickups were definitely more matched, but I can't get past how much I LOVE the bridge on the partscaster.

@GetOffset Gotoh makes a nice bridge upgrade for the Cabronita. Plus, you could put a similar to the partscaster bridge on the Cabronita.
