I have lived in Mexico City all my life, but since I started high school I have had to take public transportation (metro, cablebus, trolleybus, metrobus...) And you don't know how happy I am that people from outside the country are interested in our public transport, it touched my heart and thank you very much for making the video. 🇲🇽❤️

I came to mexico when I was only 3 years old From venezuela to Mexico I now live a very happy life and the closest line to my house is the 12 line very good line with a lot of TV and it announces station have relaxing music open gangway and new modern doors When they announce station ''Proxima estacion Calle 11 prepare su descenso apertura de puertas lado derecho'' it also displays on. The Tv's and it haves a light outside that illuminates when the doors open Also. On all lines except for the line 6 have a special model that is rainbow We all mostly call it CDMX because it displays CDMX outside and also it has neumatic lines except for A and 12 Those lines are only metallic wheels. Neumatic linrs are only on Chile and paris (everything I know) and that's my life here Also they have a earthquake alarm The most recent one was a 5.7 one (7 of December 2023) Scary. But good.

Great video! Just spent a week in MXCD and your tips were invaluable. We found the public transportation easy, fast, and clean. A little crowded at times, but no different than any other city. The bicycle system is amazing, we rode 160km over the week, including a Day of the Dead night ride that was a complete blast! Easily the most surprising city I’ve ever visited, great people, food, and culture. Great tip on the cable bus, definitely something to see.

fun fact: Mexico city uses symbols displayed at stations or signs and the symbols are there to represent different forms of transportation and stops. the reason is that illiteracy was taken into consideration. you don't need to know how to read in order to get around. and since Mexico has 68 national languages including 63 indigenous, not everyone can speak Spanish or read.

@ShouldWeLiveHere
@ShouldWeLiveHere Жыл бұрын
You only need one Metro card that you can use for everything. Create an ECOBICI account online or on your phone, and then you can link your metro card to it. The metro card has a number on the back that you enter. You then use your metro card at any bike station. A couple times the card didn’t work- I think it may have been because the bike was charging. We just went to the next bike in the rack and it would work.

Saludos.

People from CDMX like to talk thrash about the transportation system not knowing that other cities/countries have it much worse. A while back a reporter from Bogota Colombia visited CDMX and asked a lady what she thought of the Metro, she said 'it was horrible' the reporter then said 'Ma'm it would take us 50 years to get what you have if we had the money and started building today'😂
