Getting errors, like the infamous DND and or having trouble programming your lenz or sound equipped locomotive with your Digitrax Zephyr? Watch this video to switch your Zephyr to blast mode!

You are my hero today! Took all my stuff out of storage recently (been there several years), including my Zephyr DCS50. Could not get the loco going and could not restore the decoder to factory. Your tip did the trick! Also, got another loco going that I wrote off years ago (thought the decoder was shot, but your tip also did the trick!). Thank you sooooo much!!! Saved me some major hassles.

my dcs 50 died 4-5 years ago...no power through the controller to the main track....i believe the output drivers quit...i need to figure out how to get it open

Peel off the 4 rubber feet and there are screws in there

I have a DCS 51 that showed it was full as far as road numbers. I watched a video from the digitrax, inc channel that showed a way to reset the 51. I tried it and that's when it died. It turns on but that's it if I remember right. It showed a po 10 code it's been a while but I think that was it. So I bought a DCS 52 and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, it fried after less than two years. I would go back to my 51 if it worked but for now, im using old reliable tech-2. Is there a way to properly reset the dang thing and get it working again that you know of? Because most of my locomotives are DCC and the Tech2 just can push them. Also, I enjoy the sound that's why I bought the dang things in the first place. Any help would be appreciated. I plugged in the 52 and it reads ok input dc voltage and local track booster default. It reads that when not connected to the track.

Hmmm, I don't mean to be harsh but are you sure you entered the right rest commands in on the DCS 51 when you reset it? The reason I ask is I had done something similar and got that same error. I would try a full system reset again, you can google the procedure or use the video from Digitrax. If the DCS 52 hasn't physically smoked or sparked or anything like that, I would try resetting that system as well, I find that these things have a habit of coming back to life after sitting for a while. If the error persists, I would try just hooking up to a single peace of track and see what that dose. If this works or the error still persists, I would try replacing the power supply. I found that this is a common fault with the Digitrax systems. I've found that there are a few 3rd party outfits that sell on amazon and eBay, that make power supplies for far less then the cost of the official Digitrax ones that work as well or better, just make your its for the specific model system you have. If all else falls, try emailing and or sending them both into Digitrax ( get an RMA first if you send them in) and see if they can help you out. They "MAY" be able to fix on or both for less then the price of a new one. Also, note that there going to be the usually take back sales after the holidays are over. @@alcobufff thank you for your reply. The 52 just started to smoke once I plugged it in the 51 still no response. I'm going to look around for a system that has the ability to hook up to my laptop like the 52 did so im able to use decoder pro. Outside of Digitrax and MRC, I'm not too familiar with any other systems. So I'll be checking the net and shopping around. Also, I love your series on the Alcos road switchers very informative.
