As a Hispanic, I can confirm that I only go to the Dominicans when it’s time to straighten my hair. They do wash it like 4-5 times 😂😂.

@@MapleBabe heat damage they use a lot of heat , you have to neutralize a perm, Keratin is the only thing that can alter texture if its snuck in as a deep conditioner, but a relaxer no, the relaxer needs set and neutralize,

My boys go to the Dominicans for their hair cuts and they make my boys look amazing. My son is on the autism spectrum and other than my sister the local Dominican shop is the only place he will let even touch his hair.

My absolute FAVORITE thing in the world is when I'm having a bad pain day and someone washes my hair for me. It's so calming and soothing. I really miss having my brother to help me on the bad days... he use to massage my scalp for what felt like forever, being so gentle to not hurt me. Best part of the whole gettin the hair done process for me :)

I'm Dominican and most of them don't like messing with my natural hair. They don't know how to detangle it properly even after I tell them. I do my own hair unless I need it trimmed cuz $60 is expensive and I'm not always happy with results

The Dominicans wash you hair, put rollers in your hair then sit you under the hooded dryer, blow dry it straight, then try to use a flat iron ☠️ whyyyyyy?!! I just tell them not to flat iron you’ve done enough with the heat 😅

It’s actually less damage that way. However they should not be fully trying to blow dry your hair again after rollers have been put in and you’ve been set under the dryer. Usually, blow drying is used after the going under a dry to straighten your hair some more. Also, I’m Dominican and I can speak for many of us when I say our hair is 1. Hard to blow dry straight and 2. It’s hard to hold curls or keep it straight. Instead of them using a technique that works for you, many use 1 technique on all heads. 🤦🏽‍♀️

They used two people because you have natural hair. In the Dominican shops, natural hair is frowned upon. They charge you more and will sometimes put multiple people on ya hair to show you how hard it is to manage. Trust that your hair is not long enough to require two stylists. Not for a blow out
