i rewatch this scene and listen to this song every time i start to relapse and feel nostalgic for someone from the past who didn’t wanna commit to me. it makes me feel hopeful, strong and motivated. It reminds me that the future is bright - but only if I move on and make it bright.

True inspiration comes to those who seek it truly! It's so beautiful so many of us relate and cherish this scene, and this not so biggie kind-of movie in general.. Best wishes

I always know it’s a huge mistake but I get so much dopamine release when I’m seeing a girl that it might work with. I just know Im being set up for disappointment but it’s an addiction in itself.

This is the best scene in the film in my opinion. After being so emotionally bound to summer and being devastated by her being engaged he reached an absolute low point. He then makes a choice to reinvent himself and pursue his passion which is architecture. Many men can relate to this time in their lives when they “get their shit together” and really being to understand the higher levels of life. It all starts from within.

God so damn true man. Got goosebumps. We all hit hard lows. Some people choose to stay there forever and make their lives worse until they die. Others fight internally and become an infinitely better version of themselves once they're out of the storm.

its amazing how motivating heartbreak can be
@theaveragemegaguy Жыл бұрын
@@GothboiGucci I think when someone gets heartbroken the universe tests them. You either give up on yourself and slowly spiral into destructive tendencies, or you pick yourself up and dust yourself off, and work hard to become the best version of yourself! I’m glad it seems like we’re all doing the second one. Once you work hard to become the best level of yourself and work hard to be happy, you learn how to survive the harsh world on your own and then you are confident/comfortable on your own. Once that happens, you are ready for an equal partner and not a one-sided relationship like it seems most people experience heartbreak with.

In terms of a movie about a "significant other" who isn't the one, there is no movie that comes close to this in the way of showing someone realistically build themselves back up again to be confident enough to find the right person for them. This scene is absolutely wonderful and I would argue is what takes this movie to that perfect level of cinema. 10 out of 10.

People say re-watch your favourite movie or re-read your fav novel at different phases of your life. At each phase different parts will give you different meanings depending upon what situation you're in. And man, so true can someone be? Earlier I used to go over the rose tinted parts of the movie for that seemed relatable, and wouldn't understand the later parts. And now when im in a similar place, when getting up merely from bed seems so uphill a task, when the thought of living on my own after she walked away sends a me a shudder and fills me with uncertainty, this scene looks so beautiful now. Perhaps the best part of the movie.

I like this scene because of the contrast to The Graduate ending scene, he is on a bus alone , not trying to stop her wedding and she is getting married happily. No regrets or mistakes just moving on

just remember that this isn't what achitects realistically do for their actual jobs and sketching tons of buildings like that, as i work with them sometimes. hollywood always gets architecture wrong in movies for some reason.

This scene shows very practical reality of being failed in love , you do everything to make things right and hold on to hope for your love but actually you can't do much in response to someone who has consciousness and free will and if she didn't love you in first place you can never turn the table it takes time to realize but one day you do and that day you get whole different pitcher of life and start to work on yourself to leave a mark in the world you existed ❤

The time of healing and clarity after a heartbreak or a loss is so well done in this scene. Here I am years after this film came out and I can still draw inspiration from this. Love it.

The thing I adore about this scene is the fact they keep the droning synth noise from the end of the song here. Most films would likely cut it out but here it really sets the mood when Tom is on the bus & Summer is getting married. Little things of that nature really show the love that went into this film.

I’m going through an extremely painful divorce after my husband abandoned me and took half of my money with him. When I get overwhelmed, I listen to this song, get up, take my dog for a walk and remind myself that life doesn’t end here. You just have to put forth the effort yourself and not rely on one person to make you happy.

I find it interesting that you never actually see the guy that Summer marries.
@jordoruiz0001 Жыл бұрын
People would have hated the guy, and guys who misunderstood the relationship would have gone all red pill on the husband "Of course, you have to be that handsome/tall/ blue eyed/rich/hunged/caucasic/stupid/fit/asshole to keep the girl, what a slut is Summer don't you think? Probably all women are like that, and you need to be a jackass, i hate relationships" It's better this way. The husband could be the most ugly/poor/fat/nice guy in the world for all you know, so nobody can use the physical stuff as a argument. It was a mismatch since the beggining
