The Duke of MTB

Күн бұрын

On day two of our stay in Pittsburgh, PA, we headed out to Frick Park. We weren't expecting much from mountain bike trails located in the middle of a city, but boy were we surprised. The descents were longer than we expected and some of the features were straight out of what would be expected at a bike park or a more mountainous region. Needless to say, we had a blast.

This is the now the most well produced video in Frick Park. 👍 You’ll have to come back next year. So much has changed/ is changing. Maybe we’ll finally get the signage we’ve been requesting so you don’t end up in the parking lot from Roller Coaster.

Awesome Video. I'm from Plymouth, MI. So totally know what you guys are used to. I rode Frick Park, South Park, and White Oak Park in 2021 on a visit to Pittsburgh. Just went back to PA (July 2022) and went to State College to visit friends and ride. If you do another PA trip you have to go to Raystown Lake. Flowy and fun. Then go get your ass kicked at Rothrock State Forest. Brutal stuff there. I based out of State College and had a great time at night hanging downtown with the locals and college kids. (FYI I'm an old potato guy and survived). But a Blue in PA is totally different then a Blue in SE MI lol

Haha. It looked doable, just not for me and Cory. You'd just end up further down the trail before you can come to a stop. There's also that big tree you have to avoid. I probably still wouldn't do it if I went back there. It looks even more sketchy in person. Loose rock, steep, non rollable, and a big tree = too many things could go wrong. 😅

Glad you enjoy the video! The best way to find it would be to download the Trailforks app and use it to navigate. 'Rock Drop DH' is a super short section consisting of just those drops. You can ride down Iron Gate, take the 2nd left fork onto Concrete Block, and then the path to Rock Drop DH will be on the right soon after. Good luck. 😁👍
