Congrats on making the switch! Production Premium is such a great suite of tools for multimedia. I learned on FCP in film school, and once I tried Premiere, I never looked back.

I was umming and ahhing over a super cheap MAC version (I have a PC) and the info was lenient on which license it is, though I think I did ask and they said Commercial license so, according to you, I made the right choice in not caving for the easy option and losing out. A few things: 1) PAL is the standard for Europe, Japan and Australia - it runs at 25 fps, and has a slightly different screen resolution. 2) DV is a standard def format (usually 720 x 480) 3) The GoPro3 Black records video at 4K - 15 fps / 2.7K - 30 fps / 1440p - 48 fps / 1080p - 60 fps / 960p - 100 fps / 720p - 120 fps Your sequence settings are going to have to be set manually depending on what recording mode you used. Keep your pixel aspect ratio at "square".

Switching to Windows is exactly what got me started with Premiere Pro as well, and to be honest, I now prefer it over FCP. If you're struggling, I believe there is a preset in the preferences to change the keyboard shortcuts to match FCP.

I've used Sony Vegas for my KZfaq videos and I agree with you, Premiere Pro is far superior in what it can do. I was astounded by Vegas but had I known about the wonders of Adobe products then I would've been singing a different tune. I'm just learning the suite, currently focusing on premiere. This video was helpful but I have one question, in the beginning, the pop-up screen for sequences doesn't pop up anymore, I think I clicked it off for good. ow would I get that back? I can navigate to it but I prefer the screen pop-up best.

Anybody know what preset to use for GoPro videos? Also, when i first used AdobePremier, i inserted some GoPro footage, but when i clicked play to see what its about it was super slow or not moving at all, but i could hear the voice. The footage was shot in 1080 60FPS

Are you using a trial, or did you purchase the full program? If you're using the trial, Premiere only installs with a handful of the presets included with the program. As for the audio - what camera are you shooting with? What video format?

Are you running a trial version, or did you purchase the full program. Adobe only includes a handful of presets in the trial.

That depends on whether you are buying a retail box, or a commercial license through the Adobe Transactional License Program (TLP). Commercial licenses are cross-platform, but do not come with a disc, box or user manual. Retail boxes are platform-specific, and even if you could convert one to work on the other (which I don't think you can), it would be a violation of the End User License Agreement, and could (legally speaking) possibly be considered equivalent to piracy.

That all depends on what settings you used when recording it. In Fraps you should be able to set the frame rate and resolution. Just plug that info into the settings in New Sequence in PPro and you should be good to go. Pixel aspect ratio would probably be square, and the footage Progressive Scan.
