I ordered one and have recommended it to a friend as well. The thing that convinced me to switch from another brands probe was the minimum insertion depth which is absolutely incredible on your probes, the half depth discards the need to multiple expensive probes of different sizes (think meatstick) and the various temp sensors on the stick to give you that proper center cut temp. It’s brilliant, it’s the best one I’ve used yet. Keep up the good work. I know it takes time to build a rep for food gadgets, but your design is so next level and thoughtful that it became the only viable option for people doing different cuts of meat and different sizes. Thanks for putting this out there and I wish you all the best of luck, you deserve the attention.

Outstanding! Great video. I'm a competitive steak cook and I regularly compete in the SCA. I received my thermometers today and will be using them this weekend. Really looking forward to using them.

I just got my Thermometer and its Amazing. I don't often grill fish so it was a great tool for me to monitor the cooking process. But the real magic is in the App tools. The ability to export a CSV file of the Data from my cook was amazing. After looking through the data I found if I pull my fish from the heat just a few degrees lower I can get an absolutely perfect result. Awesome product.

Great video! I just ordered mine after seeing Kenji Alt use it in his roast chicken video a few days ago : ) Can't wait to use it for a brisket and really dial in the cook and temperatures for more precision and less guess work!

the moment this thermometer integrates with an app for my Joule Oven (eg Breville’s “autopilot” recipes), will be among the first to purchase

What about the range? How far can the monitor be from the probe?

Bought this. Haven't used it yet. I'm concerned about getting hot oil on the exterior part of the probes, including the charging tip. Should I be? Also as I flip steaks or move them around the probe might touch the hot pan. Is this a valid concern? Finally, is there benefit to inserting more of the probe if the piece of meat is not so big that the minimum insertion depth hits the "center" of the meat? I'm just thinking it might be easier to risk the probe touching the pan/getting less oil spatter if I insert it deeper.

Thanks for being a customer. Even really hot oil won’t be hotter than the max rated temp for the upper part of the probe. So don’t worry about that. Only a really hot charcoal grill or flare-up is likely to exceed the max temp. Same is true for touching a hot pan, even a ripping hot pan won’t heat the handle enough to do damage (I do this all the time). Finally, for small foods I always recommend pushing the tip past the center (even as far as the other side of the food) and letting the thermometer use all the sensors inside the food to find the core.

Really want to buy this in the UK too...was just looking at one for BBQ season...any way to buy this?
@RJ_RJ_RJ4 ай бұрын
I ordered one direct, you can pay a duty-included shipping fee when you buy it, and it shouldn't be held at uk customs. Will be using it for the first time this evening.

Is there any plan for apps on separate devices to have the ability to communicate with each other? As in being able to see the cooking data while not within bluetooth range? Any info would be appreciated. Looking to pick one of these up soon.

This feature is coming in a couple weeks. Late Oct / Early Nov 2023

Got one and the probe is dead after the second use. Won't connect to the phone or display anymore... Waiting for customer care to tell us about the next steps. The idea is great, and the two times this thing worked, it worked great. But reliability appears to be a huge problem...
@ChrisYoungCooks3 ай бұрын
First, very sorry to hear that was your experience-it’s definitely not normal and we pay a lot of attention to our reliability statistics. If you don’t hear from customer support at the start of the week, please let me know and I’ll investigate. Defects happen, and when they do we always want to make it right.

Is the display waterproof-can it me left out in the rain during a cook without damage?
@ChrisYoungCooks7 ай бұрын
Yes. Highly water resistant. You can’t submerge it, but it’s otherwise weather sealed.

hmmm...would really like to see both temps from two thermometers at same time on display.
@ChrisYoungCooks8 ай бұрын
We might make an oversized display for this in the future, but for now the app running on a phone or tablet is the best way to see data from multiple probes at the same time.

How long or how many charge cycles before the battery fail?
@combustion_inc9 ай бұрын
We use a fairly unique battery that retains its capacity even after several thousand charge cycles. After 2000 charges, the battery will still have 98% of its original capacity-enough for years of operation.

I wish the probe just talked to a phone with no need for a receiver. I’m also afraid of getting grease in the charging port in the handle. It should do wireless charging.
@RussellSpurlock5 ай бұрын
There is an app... for Android or iOS
@gentoonix4 ай бұрын
You should look up how wireless charging works. It requires induction coils, on both devices; charger and device being charged. While this would alleviate the risk of ingress to the current USB-C port; it adds 2 additional costs to the product and a larger charge case. It doesn’t make any sense to gripe about USB-C charging vs wireless. If you’re that concerned, keep the charger away from your cooking area. I use the booster/charger most every cook, I simply don’t lay it down near any potential splatter sources.

Please consider design a display with buttons user-friendly for those who have trouble with the tiny buttons you've put on the side.

Looks like a great tool. Really pricey thou. Who to know it's worth the cost?
@TheLumberJacked10 ай бұрын
It has 6 more temp sensors than any other wireless probe-type thermometer out there. Those aren’t free. Being able to detect then cook to perfection the middle of your meat without precision placement is incredible. The requirement to only insert it half way at a minimum means it’s both a long probe and a shorty probe and that’s unheard of. The temp rating in it is as high as the best out there now too. Predictive cooking based on multiple temp sensors is basically next level. Ya, worth it.
