This video will go into a simple true fire, keeping it very simple so as not to overwhelm beginners and those who are struggling to grasp the effect. My goal is to help those of you who are getting started.
There is still no other effect that has had as much of an impact on the custom scene ever since Mike Lavelle brought this effect into the mainstream limelight.
The Airspace is dedicated to all things atomized! Primarily focused on teaching airbrush tips tricks and techniques, as well as airbrush and related gear reviews!

I actually never got the hang of it right until i did a few small pieces then branched off from there. Im still not great at fire.. i can do ok. but its not a primary focus of mine. Its fun to do, and super cool however.

@@TheAIRspace I've had some success with green and blue fire but the real fire has been hard. I've had to throw an inter-coat to stop color bleed sometimes. I think I have been reducing my paint to much. Tonight I didn't thin it near as much and turned up my air and am having much better luck. Thanks again, I'll keep you posted.

One of the best true fire tutorials on KZfaq. Minor use of stencils,no repeats,good color transition and transparent fades with a natural looking flow. Great job Brudda.

Very well explained Bill... 😀 Why is it the things that appear to be the simplest things to do, for some reason turn out to be the most complicated 😉🎨😎🔥

Well fire just really messes with your head. It has sooo much going on in it. Defining the shapes within it messes with your brain a lot. Thanks Buddy. Ohh and 1k subs!

Thank you! I struggled a lot with it when I started. And even taking a class, I didnt understand it. I had to go back and study fire a bit. Once I realized what was happening I was able to do it. I struggled with trying to put too much in a lot.

This was fantastic! Definitely less intimidating than the big ones. Love that you used a record to do it on. Great way to use records that are scratched. Putting ideas in my head

I have about 100 unwanted records laying around. I had more. we have a used bookstore with things like Christmas special records nobody wants and can get them for about a dime a piece. I was painting a few things on records about 3 4 years ago. Definitely a cheap surface to put some cool things on.

Thanks Josh. Im hoping to grow a bit this year. But it is well known it takes time to grow on youtube. Especially those of us who started after they changed a lot of rules in 2019. It is what it is. But ill hit my 1k subs tomorrow I think. And the watch hours in a couple weeks. If I keep working it will keep growing. Not a lot of money to be made doing this either way. But im happy to be helping folks out : )

Actually I did fire with just red oxide and yellow. It is easier. Once I started using candy it was harder. BUT Candy does look better with clear on it. Candy REALLY comes on its own in the sun. BTW I do plan on making that no candy true fire tutorial sometime : )

Great video. New subscriber👍..I am moving into motorcycle tanks now. I know how to prep..but as for the best primer and base coat to use (at a decent price)..that will also be compatible with Wicked, createx illustration colors, and candy 2o..I dont know the 1st thing about. I have heard stories on airbrush paints not reacting well with certain base coats, and primers.
@TheAIRspace
@TheAIRspace 4 жыл бұрын
I have never had an issue using any acrylics over urethane base. If I’m building a full paint job, After my primer layer I usually do autobourne sealer then build from there.. If I’m painting over an existing paint job, then it’s scuff and paint unless I have scratches to repair. I really have pulled back away from automotive work in the last year... because I stay somewhat busy doing pets and portraits. However more so in that I do not have a garage. I still occasionally bring a helmet or tank in, but I have to borrow space to clear... which can be difficult. However I’ve cleared a few things in a portable garage before 🙂

you mentioned using candy, I know they are transparent, but what are they used for?.. perhaps a video idea for the best times, or when to use candy as opposed to transparent pigments...? Trying to decide if i need to buy candy paints and when I would use them... Thanks!
@TheAIRspace
@TheAIRspace 4 жыл бұрын
candy particularly when in sunlight after clear is more transparent and more vibrant. this wasn’t even cleared. Their is a downside they fade faster than other paints. and are not considered archival. there of course are other ways to achieve vibrant images. outside of fire, or doing work with ground panels and pearls, I don’t use them on regular art. But in sunlight with clear and in person they are definitely more vibrant. also because they are more transparent, you don’t lose any layers as you lay candies. whereas with a regular transparent it mutes the layers beneath. I am going to do a few more fire vids, some without candies. I just wanted this to be a super easy first step video. Although some other fires can be easier to do.
