I used exhaust U bolts to secure my tool box and my roofing equipment on my truck. Welded the nuts on after tightening. Also made my own T-bar lock contraption to lock the drawers. Worked great for me. I also used caulking and made my own seal for the top lid and drawers, just don’t close the lid or drawers until the caulking is dry, helps keep the rain out.

Idk how theft is like in Utah but maybe consider bolting down the toolbox to the bed with some L brackets. Also maybe bolt the grey bin and obtain one of those LONG locks that'll clear that little ziptie hole on the grey crate. Best of luck

I run a similar set up in NC. I keep my US general box near my tailgate of my F-150 so I can access the drawers easy and my jack sits next to the box. Everything else I can reach over the side of the bed. Years running this set up and I never had anything stolen but I live in a decent subdivision in the burbs.

Also I completely 100% agree with you whenever you said that about the spray cans rubbing/radling together going down the road that's just a great sound in general bc it probably means that your working and your providing for those who you care about well that's what I thought about when you said that..... Thanks again

I like the signage. Very nice. As for the set up not what I would go with. Put the toolbox at the back of the bed snug against tailgate. You don't want to climb into the bed for every tool. Then put a frame coming out of the holes in the bed rail that can extend down into the bed behind the box to keep it from sliding. Flip tailgate down, you have a work surface and instant tool access. Put a hitch platform on to hold your floor jack. Weight is at the back, should improve handling. Put tools you just want to reach in for in behind the cab. If you do evening work add a custom ladder rack to it so you can add lights to the back and sides to see what you are working on and use the upper crossbar to mount a light to shine down on the box and your tailgate work surface. Keep the videos coming!

I’m a subscriber and a minor KZfaq music producer, and I don’t mean this as a knock, but your baby’s travels and playing in the yard kept me more interested than your description of what you were doing. @ConTheDon187
@ConTheDon187 3 жыл бұрын
Eh I had one on my truck which is a 3500, it was the extra tall leer topper, and it added some protection but when getting in and out and grabbing tools you have to bend down so much it gets old really fast, and if he ever wants to put a small compressor or something in the bad the toppers gotta go. Or jacks, you have to take the handles out and it just adds up with other things that are harder. I thought it would be a good thing to have the topper but I quickly figured out it was a real pain
@cdnroofer
@cdnroofer 3 жыл бұрын
@@ConTheDon187 he only uses this truck for small jobs with minimal amount of tools needed for certain jobs. If it’s a bigger job he uses the old panel van. So not too much jumping in and out of the back. But a cap is more secure, and keeps everything drier.

Could you make a hinged bracket strong enough to secure toolbox to the bed, and prevent drawers from opening? Cheap insurance. Putting the tool box on runners so you could slide it back of bed would make your life easier, a pain to make though.

@johnwilliamson2393

Yes. Under boost you get higher levels of oil deposits puddling in your intake which can cause detonation when it gets pulled into the cylinders. I video cammed it on a 2009 mustang gt with 13,000 miles stock engine. Nice little puddle of oil inside intake, slight buildup on pistons.
