Never heard as Rome being described as having "filled the whole world with the domination of its own virtue" LOL, wow, the mind of the colonizer never changes. Thanks for these wonderful insights

Fantastic! Thank you for sharing this with the public P.S. I wouldn't call the way men wrote about Perpetua "stripping her from her humanity" because it implies something which isn't true. They wrote about her the way they would about any man they admired, making her superhuman and less relatable true, but not stripped of humanity in the sense she was less than a human. All accounts of saints, regardless of gender, sound like this, it isn't a male vs female thing, but divine vs human. Don't think it's fair to equate this with other contexts where men wrote about women as less than human or they didn't write about them at all.
