I learned to do full planing gybes from this video after years of almost success :-). I noticed four important factors you need: The right board, the right wind strenght, avoid chop - and give it a LOT more speed, than you think at first. When you have this - just do as they show you :-)

This series of 3 videos are the best jibe instructions I have seen. The emphasis on hanging low and driving power through the mast foot has really helped me come out of my jibes on plane.

Hi, great video! Could you please comment on "sheeting in". I see a couple of videos out there that talk about sheeting the sail in upon entry. These videos poorly explain why sheeting is required. And I do not see you mentioning sheeting in... So: is it needed? If yes, when and what to watch for? Tks!

The idea is to move the back hand further from the boom and oversheet the sail when starting the turn in order to spill sail power. Other youtube videos such as the "TWS Freemove Technique series" explain this more thoroughly.

Concerning the footwork - the stance change is finished before the sail is flipped. You are sailing clew first for a substantial amount of time and distance. Pushing on your front leg when exiting also aims the board downwind curtailing a stall. Great video! Long time sailor and subscriber. Fair Winds!

This is good. I can jibe, but I have trouble planing all the way through a jibe. When I watch videos of the PWA pros jibing, they always plane through their jibes. After studying the PWA videos I can see that they're jibing exactly like you explain it in your videos.
