This was such a fun podcast, Colin was an absolute joy to have on. I was surprised to find out that they all record their lines separately as you don't get the vibe at all in game, and that really speaks to the talent of the voice actors and the directors. I've been watching Colin's streams as well and look forward to seeing him getting to experience the story he's been such a big part of for so long. Hope to see him again in the future on the podcast!

I think Sam's Alphi was fine - we weren't supposed to like him. He was a spoiled brat and he did a great job emulating that. Needing to change VA's was a good thing since it also reflected the character change. The only change in VA's I found jarring were Merlwyb and Raubahn's.

That was a really great interview, thanks for having him! It's still so strange the VAs barely have any info about the game, and yet manage to nail these lines. (Also.. Damn, I wish I'd look so young with 37. xD Would never have expected that to be his age.) Regarding other guests though... Many people mentioned Zepla, as did you and I'm not sure that would be suche a good choice. I'm probably going to get flamed for this by her fans, but what she did during this Hogwarts Legacy thing was wild. Unfortunately her Twitch streams are deleted by now because it's been quite a while ago, same as some thoughtful reacts to that, so her story about how she supposedly was bullied and threatened by trans people and "random Twitter cyberbullies" or whatever is what remains for eternity. There is still a video of her twisting the story though, where she mentioned herself she bought it only out of spite as some sort of weird statement due to other streamers getting criticized (and I checked the streams of "other streamers", I know internet can be toxic af, but there was hardly any of that.) Despite being aware JKR gets attention, maybe money and publicity through this. (JKR also and personally considers people supporting her franchise a support of her opinions and actions but I'm not sure Zepla was aware of this at that time.) Then she said everyone writing her how disappointed or sad they are of this decision, partially not even directly addressing her on social media, would be evil manipulators trying to influence her. Trans people and allies with genuine concerns were dismissed with the same arguments TERFs usually throw around (and were then attacked on Twitter by members of Zepla's community in defense of her idol.) She also argued with her experience of fleeing Ukraine only she would know what true pain would be and then dismissed people being scared of rising transphobia, partially through supporting JKR in whatever way. (An open war between countries and an international campaign against trans people that is fueled by TERFs and has sprouted several anti trans laws all over the place are not at all comparable, and neither is the pain related to this. Wtf. Pain and suffering are not a competition. Two things can be horrible and life threatening at once.) And after she got actual backlash for making these statements to people who just said they are scared and disappointed, she doubled down, called it a witch hunt, a harassment campaign by cyberbullies from Twitter and kept claiming this was only about her playing the game, not her wild reaction to feedback she got. And that's the story that is sticking around and what she kept repeating... At least I couldn't find any recording of the actual stream that wasn't edited by her or a react to these own videos. (Zepla also pulled the "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" card which is true for food and clothing etc., but works a lot less with entertainment media, considering the huge amount of games of all sorts out there.) After that she got more actual hate and this is ofc something I do not condone and what goes way too far. Actual cyberbullying is a horrible thing and needs to be taken seriously. But these kind of insults and threads is not how this started and it's important to understand this. She said she is not a transphobe and stated this multiple times on Twitter, but at the same time she antagonized the trans people who had looked up to her and followed her for years in her first Hogwarts stream. I myself was a huge fan of her videos and watched a ton of streams (I'm not trans though) and was shocked about this, especially considering the general hate and harassment trans people had to suffer during this time (and still have, with all the ongoing legislative actions, especially in US but also UK.) That's why I watched that rant and follow-up videos from her and read her Twitter in the first place, I was hoping she might realize what exactly she was doing and maybe say sorry or anything, but nope. She also said in an interview half a year later (with Frosty I believe...?) she doesn't have any regrets and considers it the right choice "to stand up to these cyberbullies" like that. (And all of this is not even touching her takes on people pointing out the antisemitic parallels in this franchise but especially this game in particular, where she accused the people pointing it out of antisemitism because she doesn't understand how stereotypes and caricatures work or whatever, it is still puzzling to me. I'm not saying she is an antisemite, to be clear. Attacking people affected by antisemitism mentioning that very thing is still a strange take. But in the end, barely any of the backlash was about "just playing a game" but her reaction to feedback she got, partially from trans members of her very own community who supported her for a long time.) Please think twice if this is the person you want on your streams. I know I can't cite the original sources anymore thanks to twitch deleting stuff and Zepla only uploading the parts in her favour. (Although she reads some messages she got and then mocks them in her video, so idk if all of them truly are in her favour, ymmv. I suppose they look less bad and more relatable without the context of the full streams.)
