I don't know why the algorithm led me to Rugby but I actually appreciate it. I have no clue what is happening on the field but I already like it better than the NFL. Now to just learn all the laws and well, everything else about the sport. Roll Tide

You can't jump into a tackle, whether the defender is able to execute or not.

2:43 something very similar happened with the Ulster match on Friday. Craig Gilroy plucked it out of the air right in front of a defender, said “don’t mind if I do “ and went straight over the try line. Lovely stuff. I know the match was just Benetton but still!

5:14 I used to work at an elite private school in Sydney. One day I’m looking out my window watching the oval, as there was an old bloke talking to and advising one of the students on how to kick. He was there for ages, so I walked down and asked one of the rugby coaches what was going on. He said “that’s Matt Dunning’s grandfather”.

Excellent combo I particularly enjoyed watching the play at 08:00 So nice to see someone overcome such adversity, being saddled with the name Arsehole. Or maybe the commentators just didn't like him. Would have been better if it was him in the following clip getting the boot right up where the sun don't shine...

I really miss the days of listening to Bill Maclaren commentate on rugby games, certain commentators and presenters get far too partisan when they're forced to cover a game that isn't england and even worse if a ref makes a call they disagree with.

As a Florida Man, I approve this comment. Sadly, the rugby unions in the state are all at the collegiate/amateur level so they can funnel them into the Olympics. If we could get a pro rugby union going here I think the NFL would be done for.

08:21 back in the 70s when I played schoolboy rugby it was a penalty to the opposition if a player hurdled a tackler, I’ve only ever seen this instance and Shane Williams of Wales do it. Presumably the law has changed?

Is it legal to slide tackle someone like in football? Or do you have to catch them with your hands and tackle them down with your upper body?

I had to Google what a legal tackle in rugby is. You’re only considered tackled if you’re the ball carrier and that you must be held on the ground for it to be considered a tackle or held down on top of another player on the ground. It didn’t say you could slide into him like in futbol/soccer. Hopefully someone that’s more informed than me can chime in on this.

It’s illegal to attempt a tackle (enter a tackle ) leading with your feet, you have to use your arms or upperbody/chest, you can lead with your shoulder but your arms must follow so you can’t fly at someone with only your shoulder

@@estanciacampo9814 i mean it makes sense that it would be though. You're getting red carded if one of your boots hits their head, its unsafe and shouldnt be allowed in any case.
