I wonder why have skipped the old town and Erhai lake in Dali, and the old town and jade dragon mountain in Lijiang, they are all Unesco world heritages, very unique and more beautiful than Shangri-la.

As far as I know this time his main journey is for shangrila . He actually want to visit to Lhasa but it’s quite difficulty to get permit to Lhasa. So he want to see Tibetans n it’s culture at shangri la. Tibets Buddhism n its culture is quite popular in other countries.

They don't stay put in place for long but move around from one place to another depending on the season looking for better grazing pastures for their flocks. Hence their purported "sphere of influence" is vast like Mongols.

The place is NOT Tibet proper but the Tibetan area in NW Yunnan province. This area is called Lijiang and btw ALL areas in China are very clean regardless in which provine you go or travel around.

This is not Tibet, it should be Sichuan Province, where Tibetans gather. Tibetans are divided into plateau Tibetans and plains Tibetans. Obviously they settled here very early. They are completely different from plateau Tibetans. They have integrated with the Han and other ethnic groups.

Chinese Govt banned Indians to visit Tibet, long ago even foreigners of Indian descent are not allowed. Tibet is autonomous and not received full state hood, still under full control of central govt. Most of Tibetans, accepted Chinese way of life in 100%,,(Culture). as there was no alternative. Teaching Tibetan language, media, orders are in Chinese and sometimes in English.
