This is not Tibet, this region is actually a separate kingdom with a large influx of non tibetic people groups such as the Naxi and Mosuo. It is actually located on the Yunnan Guizhou plateau and not on the Tibetan Plateau, therefore the climate is subtropical and it is much lower in elevation than Qinghai and Tibet Autonomous Region. You will never be able to get a feel for Tibet by visiting this region, I suggest you visit Qinghai and TAR.

@@sonam1959_ i would rather you shut the hell up. If you don’t know any thing. This kingdom that you mentioned is it the Dali kingdom?. If it is so? Dali extends more into the south of Tibet near south East Asia. And yes like any Tibetan kingdoms of the past is an short lived one and didn’t really change the regions history that much. This region is commonly known as khawa karpo yul and literally called dechen(deqen) dzong. I m calling you an imposter because your comment has the same connotation and implications as pentse who said Tibetans in east would refer to utsang as bodh. It feels ppl such as you are trying to divide subtly or push away some ppl due to your ignorance or agenda.

Tibetan language is not related to Indian as both belong to two different language group. Tibetan script is very much related to North Indian script of 7AD, Present Tibetan script is very similar to AD North Indian Gupta script as it was patterned. Two Grammar Text was based on Panini Grammer. Most of Tibetan Buddhist names are translation of Sanskrit names such as Sangyae (Buddha) Drolma (Tara) Dakpa (Kirti) Yangchen (Sarasvati) etc. Only Bonpo Tibetan have the original Tibetan name which such as Yundrung (Swavastika) etc.

I dont know about the Pali and how it is read ..or look alike or sound like ...... But i am prity sure the roots would take us to Sankrit ...... The ladies with oxgyen cylinders are Chinese so they have high altitude mountain sickness. Tibetans are adapted to high altitude. There is a saying in Indian Army that Tibetan soldiers aka SFF have 3 lungs given the ease at which they perform at high altitude in the Himalayas. The region you are visiting is low compared to average altitude in Tibet. Eastern region of Tibet merged with Chinese province of Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunan and Gansu are called bread basket of Tibet while those bordering Himalaya or Western Tibet are called reserviour of water and central Tibet such as Lhasa is dubbed as handle connection the East and West of Tibet, Northern Tibet where Amdo lives are source of all Mekong, Yangtse and Yellloow rivers aprt from many hundreds of smaller rivers that feed the whole of Asia literally. Tibetan living is higher altitude have darker skin and those from the lower region have fairer skin simply due to difference in ultraviolet radiation.

This is not Tibet, this is Shangri La in Yunnan, China. Tibetan belongs to the Sino Tibetan language family and does not originate from India. The customs of the Tibetan people do not originate from India, but they believe in Buddhism. Buddhism originated from Nepal.

This place is also part of Tibet but CCP divided Tibet into many parts with Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, Qinghai and Xi Zang. Don’t understand why CCP split Tibet with other places of China.

Sichuan has always been the territory of the Han people, and the most famous city is Chengdu. Gansu and Qinghai have historically been predominantly inhabited by Muslims and the Hui ethnic group.

Tibet ko divide nahi kiya ye hissa bahut pehle se Mainland china ka hissa tha. China ne ek bar main hi kya Tibet ko conquer nahi kiya. Thoda thoda karke kiya than, yeh wala hissa pehle kiya isliye yunnan main hain. Main Tibet ko 1959 main kiya isliye wo alag province hain. Jaise, ap punjabi , Punjab main rehte hain lekin bikaner se hi punjabi bolna shuru ho belgav, karnataka se marathi shuru jata hain Waise samjho. Aur gumrah mat karo yeh main Tibet nahi hain, main Tibet main jao permit leke.

Monastery rooftops are just painted yellow but not gold. Only be some Buddha statues are gold painted not solid gold. Most of the gold and silver in the monasteries collected over since 7AD were looted Chinese go by during Mao Tsetung era. These golden s yr statues were sold in Hongkong and were bought by rich people in Auction. Mao left only 13 monasteries out of 6000+ in Tibet. Mao showed these 13 monasteries to deceive the world that there is religious freedom. The monasteries you see now are rebuilt after the death of Mao by donation of the Tibetan devotees. Buddhism is seeped into the blood and bones of Tibetan people. No wonder when you see a Tibetan or a Chinese you can differentiate - Chinese are by and large atheist and Tibetan steeped in religion. Mao has failed to make Tibetan atheist but succeeded in converting Chinese into atheists.
