Now imagine having met Yannis in person back in the day (when he still had hair) and, while knowing he's "into music" having no idea what kind of talent he has (we had common friends, frequented the same places). Yeah... I'm still kicking myself over that.

Something to be noted about Yannis if you haven't looked into his background: He studied Opera at the University of Macedonia so he is classically trained. He also grew up with music originally playing keyboard and guitar as a kid before a friend in Highschool convinced him to sing (and gave the whole world a gift without knowing it)

@@YannisPapadopoulos promise I haven't been stalking you. I just went down a rabbit hole reading interviews and articles when I first found you guys a few years ago (thanks to KZfaq algorithms getting things right on a random playlist) trying to figure out your vocal range. I'm tone deaf but I had a saint like music teacher in grade school that managed to instill a life long appreciation of singing. And between your skill and obvious passion for your work I fell in love with your music.

Beast in Black opened for NIghtwish quite a bit. Probably one reason why he was able to absorb himself in this song so well.

Correction: No human being can sing Ghost Love Score like Yannis... The man is a monster of a singer, I love his voice, be it over the top high or be it low, in any language of his choice, it is quite a hypnotic spell to listen to Yannis... Floor is a great singer, but Yannis, is like the first drop of spring water, in a desert, pure joy to witness.

If you wanna hear him with pure raw power/borderline screamo power, look up the Beast in Black piece, "Zod the Immortal". Fair warning, it will catch you fully off guard. Yannis is a beast in that song, almost literally.

It's always entertaining watching reactions to this wonderful song. For the future, may I suggest a reaction to some Dino Jelusick? Maybe something from his new album, or Hold your fire by Magnus Karlsson (and him obviously).

If you want to hear more of the 70/80's vibe from Beast in Black I would recommend Sweet True Lies. Also I would like to recommend Rebirth by Eluveitie, for both clean and harsh vocals from a man and a woman, plus a ton of different instruments.

thanks for reacting to this, i was one of that people who suggested this. i ask myself if you are able to react to a Lorna Shore song as well, it has another kind of unbelievable voice abilities by Will Ramos. If, you should try out "Pain Remains Part I : Dancing like Flames" this is deathcore, but emotional and melodical/symphonical outstanding good metal

"and why they make the choices that they do" not to distract from Yannis, but Floor does what you are asking in her own "reaction" to Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013. She goes into more of an analysis of her vocal choices and memories from that show. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h72PZqlinZzDZYU.html

Yannis is good, but I still prefer Queen Floor. 😅 Also, I have a new suggestion for something a bit different: "Die Hölle muss warten" ("Hell Has To Wait") or "Eiszeit" ("Ice Age") by German band Eisbrecher. I'm interested what you'd think of the singer's style (although he doesn't really do anything really crazy, just uses a couple of different styles).

I may get some hate from this comment, and I absolutely love Floor as a vocalist and Nightwish as a band, but for me, when I first heard this 3 years ago, Floor was unseated in my opinion as the best vocalist of my lifetime, I honestly think Yannis is a better vocalist than Floor, and that isn't an insult to her in the slightest, this guy is absolutely insane with his range.
@grieverproductions2022
@grieverproductions2022 2 ай бұрын
Oh look I don’t think that comment is worth hate. Everyone is worthy of their own opinions for sure. If you prefer someone over another, that’s totally fine. Truthfully the way I handle that side of things is make a list of who I like and WHY I like them. I honestly could not give anyone a “favourite” artist for this reason. Yannis, however is a freak in the best possible way. I’m very glad I came across his stuff
